When where they ever part of South Carolina? If anywhere in Mississippi wants to host, they should bid on the tournament.
LOL..if this game is played at the Landers Center in Southaven or in the Memorial Coliseum in Jackson instead of being playing in South Carolina MSU shoots better and they win this damn game...you know it and I know it...LOL

I hope SC fans realize this is a troll MSU account and takes this poster with a grain of salt. This poster has been nothing but trolling and trying to stir the pot.
You wanna debate me on women's college basketball or something? Do you have something you would like to ask me?? LOL

Congratulations to South Carolina. Great season.

Also, notice that Coach Schaefer was talking to and obviously complimenting M Herbert-Harrigan after the game. He seems to gravitate to players like her. He was almost overly complimentary of S Cunningham last season for the same reason.

I also just listened to both post game press conferences. Both coaches were very complementary of each other and the other’s program.

Think the closest one is Southaven, but it is small. Tupelo is also small. Decent size one on the Gulfcoast.
Landers Center in Southaven seats 9,000 people...that's plenty for a woman's basketball game...LOL

Vic's great. He respects competitors and isn't going to overreact to them being passionate and competing. Whether it the other team or his own.

anyone that has played sports has run hot in a competitive game. It's not a big deal.

MSU has been very up and down. Their game at SC may have been their best of the season. This is one of their down days.

When was the last time a team in the SEC went 19-0? Tennessee's undefeated season in 1998? You gotta tip your hats. SC really brought the goods.

I know of 2015-16 for South Carolina.....

When did Jacksonville, FL or Nashville, TN become a part of the state of Mississippi??

That was more in response to the "must be nice to have the SEC tournament in South Carolina every year" part of your comment......

Good luck to MSU rest of the year. This series isn't a rivalry though. MSU has yet to do enough to make it one. Just like SC hasn't done enough to make it rivalry with UConn. It's just potential rivalries should usual losers start winning more.

I guess Memphis would be the closest realistic option?
I live in Memphis so I would love for the SEC tournament to be played here at FedEx Forum and a game like today would have been packed with MSU fans and USC would have lost...no doubt about it.

Isn't it 3-3 over the past three years?

So every USC player wanted to fight because this isn't a rivalry game I guess huh

it's been 6-3 SC since both teams have been elite and on the same playing field. (starting 2016-2017) And only 2 out of those 9 were played in Starkville where MSU is 2-0. What an arrogant claim.

You could have stuck with the first sentence and stop there. As of right now, Miss St and SC are in a class of their own in the SEC. Both have outstanding coaching and are brining in great talent. Some of the traditional powers are hovering pretty low and are ways away right now.

Vic and Dawn have transformed bottom of the conference dwellers into national competitive powers. No offense to Miss St fans but its incredible how Vic can try to attract kids to Starkville, that is not easy at all.

I think SC has the ideal blend of veterans with youth. Especially with a four-year starting point guard who's been the model of consistency and leadership. And these 3 freshmen make up one of the best rookie classes I've ever seen. Perhaps the best ever.

Wait until you see Amihere with an off-season to develop. Right now, provided she wouldn't foul so much to put her on the bench, or turn the ball over to make herself into a liability in tight games, she's got the game to be a 10.0+ ppg player for USC. But she is so raw with her control right now due to those injuries she dealt with in high school, she's a bit like a bull in a china shop. But she already has the talent to be a 10.0+ ppg scorer and a major rebounder + shot blocker, minus those flaws. And she's something like 5-8 from the 3-pt. line during SEC play thus far.

She brings a total plate of scoring inside and outside, rebounding, blocking, stealing, but unfortunately right now also fouling and turning the ball over, so she's getting around 10-15 minutes per game off the bench. I still say that Amihere may turn out to be the best of the freshman bunch - she's the Steve Avery of the Atlanta Braves pitching staff right now, lol. Just needs to see if the USC staff can develop her to reach her crazy potential.....

Why wouldn't top high school female basketball players NOT want to play at the HUMP in front of 8 or 9 thousand fans?????

Ha oh yeah. Their Sweet 16 loss to Syracuse year.

Yep. Miss St. Bulldog fans have been commenting on how slow their team has been starting games this season - our team in 2015-16 was like that. We had come close the year before in 2014-15 during Wilson's freshman year where we lose to Notre Dame by 1-2 pts in the Final Four, with the ball in our hands taking the final shot. Most Gamecocks fans felt the team the next season was a better team, and for 95% of that season they played like it, despite all the slow starts. They finished games very strong.

We started that NCAAT sluggishly as well, even in the 1st and 2nd RDs that ultimately were blow-out wins. Against Syracuse, they came out with their hair on fire, and we again started slow, and they ran away with the game. We played better as the game progressed, but they never let off the gas, and ran away and hid from us. It sort of feels better these years later that Syracuse kept on their beastly pace right to the championship game until they ran into a stone wall there, but at the time it was a hard loss to digest.

Of course, the next season in 2016-17 made things better.... :D

In Staley's mind, Kentucky has been more of a rival for South Carolina than Miss State, but State has been presenting themselves more of a rival in recent seasons, on the bigger stages. There's nothing wrong at all with having multiple rivalries - it was what made the SEC so tough during the Tennessee-Georgia, Tennessee-Auburn, and Tennessee-LSU days of old. We could use 1-2 more teams step up as well. Steel sharpens steel!
