I was watching on my phone and I heard the referee yelling into the box with the timekeepers, statisticians telling them he didn’t want the lights to be activated at all. That’s why I thought it was intentional.

So if the puck was nowhere near the goal how was this activated. Human error I guess.

It's even dumber than that. The goal lighting sequence was started by the preceding shot against UConn (you can see lights flashing prior to to the lights going out).

So, in sequence:
1) Somebody hit the goal sensor on a preceding shot, which wasn't a goal
2) The refs ignored it
3) The somebody who hit the sensor apparently couldn't stop it
4) our 2 on 1 gets nullified when the lights went out

old man at cloud time - i hate flashing lights on/off at sporting events for big plays. this is as good as reason as any to outlaw it.

Refs were saying that basically to say "don't hit the goal lights again because this apparently is too difficult for you to manage" (nicely paraphrased)

.-.
Here it is…I grabbed it off the broadcast and posted it to X, then to the BY. Best I could do.

Good should post it to the basketball board because it is UConn related and will get the most attention and it would help it go viral.

Unless I missed it (was listening to BOb Joyce for first 2 periods ), I didn’t see the lights go pitch dark like that for their first 3 goals.
