Unless I missed it (was listening to BOb Joyce for first 2 periods ), I didn’t see the lights go pitch dark like that for their first 3 goals.

Never, ever forget...............Hockey East is a Massachusetts-centric league. Connecticut.......fuhgettaboutit.

Umass and HE owe everyone an explanation . This is really unacceptable. Couple the lights out fiasco with the 1st period officiating in the BC game and you have to start wondering what is going on! Is HE turning into a bad joke????

.-.
This is crazy, and should never there should be an explanation from HE.

HE will simply sweep this under the rug. It’s what they do.

It's true

Yhea the only way it will get investigated is if Benedict UConn's ad forces a investigation. But I have no faith in him he really doesn't care about the hockey team. The reason why I know that his before the season started he was on the rob dibble show. He was talking about the start of the fall and winter sports not one metion of the hockey team after they had a great year!

I don't know what's going to happen, but that power outage was perfectly timed to squelch a UConn 2 on 1. Benedict does care about hockey though. Toscano is COB of the Trustees and we're paying Cavanaugh top dollar for a public university HE coach.

Benedict is from Arizona and worked at some P-4 schools - ASU, Auburn, Minn. He may not know much about hockey, but he is a prolific fundraiser. I don't know what we get from HE (if anything)? However, w/o him, UConn is in a difficult position, because (broken record warning!) we make chicken guano from our only source of conference revenue - the BE.

.-.
A wee bit late.

As we used to say in the military.........CYA.

Please vote - Do you believe it was unintentional?

Just wondering what the HE response would have been if this were a BC-BU game.

They mentioned the power outage incident on PTI Monday. I’ve never heard them talk about UConn Hockey on Pardon the Interruption before. They compared it to the marathon runner who followed the pace car off course even though she was leading the race and finished in tenth. The question was “which incident was worse?”No real answer or remedy but the hockey incident received some national media attention.

They had 7,932 at the game at UMass. And Toscano seats 2,700. 😟

"UConn currently sits at No. 14 in the NCAA Percentage Index (NPI), which is the main metric used to determine who qualifies for the 16-team Division I men's hockey tournament. The Huskies would be the last team in the tournament, but that assumes there are no major upsets in conference championship games from so-called "bid-stealers."

UMass, meanwhile, is making a late charge to qualify for the NCAA tournament. The Minutemen have surged into the at-large conversation after winning 10 of their last 13 games, with No. 13 Boston College making a trip across the state to play another huge game on Thursday, March 5.

The lights snafu also casts a shadow over the Hockey East race.

Third-place UConn leads fourth-place UMass by just one point with two regular-season games left. The four best teams get a home quarterfinal game in the conference tournament, although No. 18 Maine and Boston University have outside chances of stealing a top-four spot."

.-.
How do you not assess a delay of game penalty? This is what they exist for.

Apparently it’s not a penalty according to the rule book. Cav confirmed that when asked about it.

Did hockey east ever release a statement about it??
They sent a memo to all teams in the league banning the "use of any theatrical lights, dimming, or strobe effects after goals are scored." The issue will be further reviewed before next season.
