The Beavers have drawn first blood, jumping out to an 18-9 lead.

So....OSU is pretty good when they are hitting their shots apparently. Red hot most of the way thru Q1.

29-17 Beavers after 1. Can’t believe ND not scoring inside more.

So here's a news flash. Oregon State is tough when they're hitting 73% from the field.

I don't know how much more I can stand of the idiot Notre Dame homer announcer mispronouncing every single OSU name: He's calling Coach Rueck "Wreck," and Mikayla Pivec "PEE-vec"

.-.
More big news from this game: Marina Mabrey is back in action.

Very weird to hear “Foul on Corosdale, that’s even better” from the announcer. Not used to that.

Yeah, but teams rarely shoot 73% against good defenses.

Young killed OSU last year, looks like she's doing it again.

This game tightened up. Wasn't expecting the torrid shooting to continue, but they're polar opposite in Q2 (36%).

Some trends don't bode well for OSU. Mounting foul trouble with multiple players (including Slocum and Pivec) with 2 fouls each. They cannot stop from fouling the ND jump shooters.

Mabrey has wasted no time getting chippy. She was already yelling at the referees about something.

Now it appears Ogunbowale flagrantly elbowed an OSU player to her face. The play is under review.

Was there a double technical? Both teams shot FTs w/ no time coming off the clock. What's up?

edited--oops, above post may have answered my question

Interesting that Shepard didn't play yesterday, she returned to the lineup and Mabrey playing for the first time all year. ND brought the big guns for this game.

Arike with an unsportsmanlike foul after hitting Janessa Thropay with an elbow, that went uncalled at first. On the next possession, Thropay was called for a blocking foul. They reviewed both to for a long time...led to FTs.

Well, all in all OSU has to feel fairly good about still being up 9 despite poor shooting for most of Q2.

.-.
Ha, I didn't really need more reasons to dislike ND but it sounds like they are providing some anyway.

Not the least of which is the arrogant homer announcer who just informed us that Notre Dame has the "best coaching staff in the country." Oh, ya don't say...

I dislike the fact that there is an ND announcer, I didn’t notice any bias nearly as much in the other games. It’s unusual to listen to. Last time I heard bias this heavy was when Rebecca Lobo was eager for the foul for KLS in the FF vs. MSST

The question is....will the outside players swallow their pride and take advantage inside? I won't name a certain player bc I know the ND get upset but that is something to watch.

Notre Dame is notoriously dangerous in 3rd quarter... Hopefully OSU can withstand their run and come out firing! Go Huskies!

I’ve witnessed her execute dirty plays before in other games. When a rebounder goes up high for a rebound, she’ll bend down and go into their legs and upend them. Very dangerous play. Seen her do it a couple times.

Ogunbowale/Thropay Scuffle Pics

Some pics I screenshotted for those who aren’t watching. Elbow looked very intentional.
It says I need to request permission in order to view the pics via Google Drive.

Try just copying and pasting the pic into the message. That should work.

The Beavers' usual ball-handling troubles already rearing their head. And Corosdale just picked up her 3rd foul to compound a turnover.
