Agree....there was likely some thought put to this by the past and present coaches.....Dare I say somewhat of a conspiracy?

    Generational Players-when can you tell?

Your position that a player can only be considered generational depending on who she plays with and the results thereof is, imo, not a logical argument. Your position emphasizes external factors to define generational rather than the implicit gifts an individual player might have. If EDD had...

    Generational Players-when can you tell?

No Brittany Griner? The most dominant, game changing player in WCBB History? Is there seriously any doubt that had she been surrounded by the players your top five were surrounded by that she would have even lost a game during her career?

    Who guards Sabrina?

Crystal is a good defensive match-up on Ionescu. I don't think Ionescu is a good enoh ball player to break Crystal down. I don't see Griffin in the guarding-Ionescu-mix as she is better suited to deal with Sabally on the perimeter. Also, Sabally is a board crasher which will play to Griffin's...

I Watched Baylor Annihilate OK Last Night (TV). It Appears UConn Is in for a Tussle!

Agree; and with Cox, too (I can't imagine Geno playing ONO out on the perimeter with Cox). I wouldn't be surprised to see Aubrey get more pt than usual in this game.

I Watched Baylor Annihilate OK Last Night (TV). It Appears UConn Is in for a Tussle!

Imho Kyla would not match up against Cox very well....Lauren would shoot over her all night long, and if forced to drive, Lauren, being the exceptional passer that she is, would easily find the open player Of ODO had to come to the rescue. Aubrey on Cox would be a much better match up.

Megan Walker - Wooden Award early favorite

Completely agree....Megan would have to be substantially better than POY to actually get the award which media pundits, as noted several times previously by Boneyarders, have predetermined to be Ionescu. I'm not convinced leviathan like numbers combined with a national championship will move...

    All Decade Team for WCBB

Any all decade team sans EDD is not credible. Had she played her four years at Uconn.....then Uconn would probably not have lost a single game. If you think about it....this makes many of the "relevancy" arguments about who played with who and where suspect at best. EDD was and is one of the...

    Uconn to #1 Watch

Based on many of the comments posted by the "in the know" (so, you don't) Boneyarders in this thread, I suspect it is with much anxiety that it is beginning to very much look like UConn's #1 ranking is all but guaranteed in the near future. To be revealed soon enough Stanford is not a number...

    Uconn to #1 Watch

Interesting construct. What if they both go undefeated through season-end? What then? Admittedly, while unlikely in UConn's case, it is entirely possible for Louisville which is playing in a demonstrably weaker ACC this year. Could this be Louisville's year? And what if OSU manages to beat...

    Uconn to #1 Watch

Pollsters don't overthink this stuff until it starts to count. They tend to use a next-in-line mentality at this point in the season. Based on current play UConn probably is not the second best team in the country...it does all work out in the end, though, when it does matter. FWIW, In the...

    Uconn to #1 Watch

Imo You nailed it. The only question is whether pollsters move Louisville up 5/6 spots eking them ahead of Oregon. Pollsters don't normally move teams so dramatically. However, since both South Carolina and Baylor both lost this week, too......they might, and in the process, get the poll right...

Oregon already went down. Baylor is currently losing to South Carolina. Stanford will be hard pressed to beat Mississippi State tonight.... ....so.....Uconn to #1:cool::cool::cool:

    Seen this Paige vid?

Imo Paige is as dynamic and talented as Diana Taurasi was during her UConn years and plays the game very much like Taurasi does. But Ionescu is really, really good, too. :)

    Seen this Paige vid?

What the heck are you talking about??? OT: Is This The Beginning Of The End For The NCAA?

Thanks for posting this. My observation? The NCAA immediately recognized the serious threat the California law poses to the NCAA protecting the billions earned by schools at the expense of student athletes in Big time sports. The NCAA will lose this battle in a big way as the courts, and...

The 2nd 2019/2020 "Season Record" Poll

Dangerfield, Walker, Williams and Ono are good enough to go undefeated regardless of who fills that 5th spot (who will also be very good).

OT: Is This The Beginning Of The End For The NCAA?

My experience tells me that big institutions have already hired high powered professionals and will spend hundreds of millions on attorneys and lobbyists just on learning how to lawfully exploit the new likeness rule. You show me a major institution who fails to develop and exploit this new...

OT: Is This The Beginning Of The End For The NCAA?

Thanks for the response, but it doesn't address my main point..so I'll make it more explicitly and affirmatively. Both Congress and State Assemblies are lawfully recognized as separate and distinct taxing authorities meaning that each of them have the power to tax. Both have the power to pass...

OT: Is This The Beginning Of The End For The NCAA?

You lost me on this argument. The NCAA may have tax exempt status....but their tax-exempt umbrella does not cover students, only the NCAA as an organization. :)

How about Nike paying player X to use their likeness to sell t-shirts or basketball shoes? Respectfully, the ruling opens Pandora's box.

OT: Is This The Beginning Of The End For The NCAA?

Exactly!!! Big time university boosters and corporate marketers will make very short work of taking advantage of the profit-on-likeness rule as well as take down any and all remaining barriers in the way of protecting their turfs, status & profits (which is more than just money!). I agree...

OT: Is This The Beginning Of The End For The NCAA?

Excellent point! Show me any large governmental or institutional (public) program that correctly benefits and protects the intended end-user while not disenfranchising a separate group of people and I'll show you dancing monkeys on our green moon:D There is nothing capitalistic or sustainable...

OT: Is This The Beginning Of The End For The NCAA?

….and, if in the process we can help protect our institutions' capacity to make billions off athlete amateurism, than we have truly met a primary goal. (sarcasm intended)
