I’m not at practice so I don’t know if they are ever tackling fully to the ground during the season. My guess is probably not and that goes for most teams.
How do you improve tackling in season without tackling? They should be scaling the drills to teach and practice skills. Instead of 100%...
“Conditioning” is discussed ad nauseam for every college and NFL team. I can remember folks being enamored circa 2007 when UConn did an article about Jerry Martin using strongman training with the players.
It is fair to constantly evaluate and improve all aspects of the program. IMO, the most...
FULL RETRACTION. Thought it was torn on Saturday. My sincere apologies.
But one has to wonder what went on Thursday and it's still my contention that improper "load management" is the cause of non-contact injuries such as this.
Although rarely employed even at the highest level of sport, high intensity training days should be followed by a low intensity day. This minimizes the risk of non-contact injuries like Polley's torn ACL. Friday was the day before Saturday's game so Friday should be a low intensity day. That...
VAN DYKE. What's probably more concerning is the offensive line and he may be hitching his wagon to a HC that doesn't last long. After seeing what he did here in 2017, I'm optimistic he does well and significantly improves the offense.
Bogan is a very good player for sure. Saw him this weekend against Bloomfield. NE champ last year in the 100m at just over 11.0. I think the size is holding him back. His teammate Jordan Davis, whose brother is Fordham's RB, is also very good.
Moyseenko was at the game. Maybe mostly watching...
Last 2. I'm assuming because Leone told Edsall he planned on leaving after the season so he was honored at senior day. They gave Hubbard that start and at Temple. Again, assuming to get Hubbard experience going into next season. Then he decided to also transfer.
He was on the "participation squad" all season at WR and was supposedly fully recovered. He doesn't have the body type for WR, it's more suited for RB. He looked good catching passes in 2018 out of the backfield but didn't have natural RB instincts on run plays. By the end of the season it was a...
So there's 2 NFL players on this offensive line? 3 last year, since Crozier is on the Jets practice squad. Hard to fathom the line not dominating if these guys are that good. Interesting but not surprising that Edsall went with Hubbard over Leone to get him experience.
He was also ridiculously overpaid for his one season at Nebraska. La Tech is doing well this year. He's young enough that I think there's a good chance he ends up as a DC at a P5 program again in the future.
No Kevon Jones and it looks like Justin Moore makes his first appearance? Also haven't seen Rayonte Brown at OL previously but I haven't looked at the last few to come out.
To make this situation even more bizarre, Edsall said yesterday his QB has been hurt all season.
