Bottom 2nd, first two Charlotte hitters get on base with a single and double, runners on 2nd and 3rd. Coe comes into the game relieving Gallagher. Going to see a lot of the bullpen today.

Bottom 2nd, another run scores on a sac fly to make it 5-1 Charlotte going to the top of the 3rd.

Chris Jones says Coe has been stretched out to be a potential starter, so he could be in this game for a number of innings. He did well to get out of that inning with allowing just 1 inherited runner to score.

Chris Jones has been saying that Charlotte is a quality team (they got an at large NCAA tourney bid last season), but their bullpen is not the strength of the team, so he has been waiting for UConn's chance to get into it. Well, here it comes.

Bottom 6th, Alejandro starts the inning on the mound. After 2 outs, a single, a walk, and a hit by pitch loads the bases. Alejandro's second strikeout of the inning ends the inning with no runs scoring. 5-3.

It's only been a couple of games, but I'm getting a little excited about the UConn bullpen. Just have to see if they can keep repeating this early success.

Did we lead the nation in hit batsmen (by) last year? Seems like we must have averaged better than one a game, and I think there was one where we hit five or six.
