I can’t wait to win tonight and have all the bandwagon cry babies beat their chests like they were the ones in the gym
Who are you kidding? This game is at XL, we’re losing by 60 points.

Like the last three lines baffled me ?
UConn -10 1/2 over Creighton ?
nova only -5 over Uconn and then tonight’s line— none of these made/make sense
Creighton +10.5 was a slam dunk.

Nova -5 could have gone either way.

Marquette +7 is basically the same as the Creighton line adjusted for higher quality of opponent. It's like Vegas didn't watch us last week at all, or they think we're a really bad matchup for Marquette.

It’s like u said—- almost as if the Handicappers haven’t seen how bad we ve been playing. So weird. I can’t decide of the three lines, which one is most shocking. Gotta be tonight’s line

-6 right now on draftkings.

I would either take UConn -6 or Marquette moneyline (or maybe both).

We could continue playing terribly and lose against a good team.

Or it could be the case that we're a really bad matchup for Marquette and we win by a comfortable margin. I have no idea.

But if you're taking Marquette +6 you might as well take them outright.
The matchup thing is a real headscratcher sometimes. We matched up well with Marquette (sans Morsell) and beat them on the road. Marquette swept Villanova. We (apparently) didn't match up well with Villanova, and they beat us handily. So hard to predict. Bottom line for me at this point is just get the W!

Considering the remaining schedule, losing this game could prolong a slide that leads to a Wednesday game at the Big East.

Hard to win against good teams without leadership. Where's it coming from if we haven't seen evidence of it at this point?

There's no Shabazz pushing Boatright to the proper place on the floor. No KEA looking anguished as he gets after the others.

We have a great group of fine young men but seem to lack the nasty leader who gets the team fired up to win big games.

This photo may sum it up

It's a good question. We didn't really have one last season, either.

RJ leads by example, but he's not vocal.

The players and Hurley say that Whaley is the most important player on the team, but he seems to be more of a lunch pail guy than a leader.

I think Martin sees it as his role, and his comments in today's paper suggested that he thinks he needs to do his part by flexing and engaging with the crowd more, but I get worried when he tries to do too much because that's usually when the wheels start falling off.

If it remains an open question this season, what about next season?

There are things people quickly forget about when they go to place money on a game. First and foremost... "they do not build casinos in the desert for no reason".

My strategy revolves around fading the public/$ and has worked very well for me in the past (hitting at a 66% clip on NCAAB, well above the 55% professionals claim). For example, last night Temple was -4 against 6-13 USF... 99% (!!!) of the public was on Temple with about 14K people betting on it. It seems too good to be true, why only a -4 favorite against such a horrid team? Well, the linemakers know a lot more than us and USF ended up winning by 3pts (I won on +4 and Vegas RAKED).

Very similar to a week ago or so when 6-12 ASU being +6 against a 19th ranked USC. 96% (!!!) public was on USC, ASU ended up losing by 5.

Although you obviously don't win 100% of the time with this strategy (and these being the absolute extreme cases), tonight looks like another bet I'll be making and it's on the Huskies.

22% of the bets on UConn, only 16% of the $ is on UConn (and the line is going up!). I'll be happily siding with Vegas because yet again they know a lot more than us. Pair that with Marquette 5-0 ATS their last 5 and UConn 0-3 ATS their last 3, I see a regression to the mean for both teams in terms of ATS wins/losses.

Side note: if you regularly gamble on any college or professional sports, I highly recommend downloading the Action Sports Network on your phone and paying for the Pro version. I believe it's about $120 per year and worth every penny.

Big $, Sharp $, System (betting model), Edge (line vs. Action Networks suggested line), and Pro (Accounts of pro bettors picking which side they're on) indicators to help guide you to more gambling wins.

Hammer the under. Not one basketball player on earth can shoot well in that building. None. Zero.

It’ll be a 41-45 slugfest.
You can take the under for UConn's team total, it is 73, although if you did that the last 9 games you would be 2-7

Well, I couldn't rescind my Marquette +6.5, so instead I hedged by taking UConn now -6.

I now have:

Marquette +6.5
Marquette +7
UConn - 6

If we win by exactly 6, I'll have a great night!

Hawkins gets 17 tonight on way to a UConn victory. But if I was an impartial bettor I'd take the points all day long

If that happens then UConn is in heaps of trouble
I would like to think that the players are sick of losing close games and somehow will themselves to win this one in a close one
I hope you are correct but the data suggests that UConn is in a deep downward spiral.

If you’re not turning us over, you’re doing us a favor letting us play offense out of a press break

I’m confident we ain’t beating Marquette
Tough night for you. I hope you were able to wipe away your tears with your Devandorf jersey before they flooded your microwave dinner.
