I could eat Golden Grahams all day. Cheerios are the most overrated thing on this planet.

You must be six years old.

The pizza thread, the beer thread, basically any food thread - I am out of my depth. But cereal...now you are in my house. Cereal is a dinner option around here.

With cereal, the classics are the best. Cheerios, Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies.

If you need sugar on cereal, stop pretending and just go have some cookies.

Whatever you do, don't mistake Whole Foods 360 Organics Generics for the real thing. Did it twice with Kellog's Rice Krispies (my favorite) and Cheerios, a mistake both times. They are made from the same product as the box they come in.
And Chex, Rice or Corn are the best.
And be careful out there:

Cookie Crisp allows one to do just that while still staying in the realm of cereal.

Most overrated cereal is frosted mini wheats.

Best is Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch is great

Waffle Crisp is also excellent although I liked the older "bigger" waffle version a little better.

Cookie Crisp is only good for flensing the flesh off the roof of your mouth.

Captain Crunch variations can do that too.

Anyone remember King Vitamin?

"Flensing" and "palanquin."

You have now taught me two words.

Thank you. Any day I learn a new word is a good day. I can't wait to use this one.

Unfortunately, they're only really useful if you're a whaler or a sultan.

I like Lucky Charms too.

Its like a pain/pleasure thing. I always eat around the marshmallows so I just have those left at the end and can eat spoonfuls full without mucking it up with the banal grain based portion of that cereal that tastes like cardboard. So you suffer through eating all that out first and then get that pot o gold at the end of the rainbow at the end.

Captain Crunch about 15 or 20 years ago ran a limited edition marshmallow cereal variation called "Baseball Crunch" that was one of the best cereals of all time. Because not only did it have a very high marshamallow ratio, but the non marshmallow portion of the cereal was tasty too.

I ride something until I get tired of it. I tend to eat cereal as a condiment (to yogurt for breakfast or a creamy dessert) or an after meal snack. The Chex line is generally popular in our house. Right now I'm partial to Honey Nut Chex while my wife regularly downs a box of Chocolate Chex.

We recently took a ski trip and had a kitchenette that allowed us to save a ton on breakfast. We let the kids go more unhealthy than usual. We let them have old-school pop tarts and the variety pack of sugary cereals. They were disappointed in Lucky Charms (those aren't really marshmallows!) and fought over Golden Grahams. Forgot how good those were. They'll be making a come back in our house.
