And let's not forget that one of the most storied teams with one of the winningest coaches- North Carolina- lost in the first round to upstart South Carolina.

????? I'm confused.

I wouldn’t read too much into the tournament losses. Teams are playing for their tournament lives (except Georgia, who forgot there was a game tonight) and mid majors are pulling off some upsets. Maybe parity is getting closer all the time.
But 20-point MOVs are unusual in upsets.

Fairfield--that was NC A&T that South Carolina beat, another thing altogether. UNC wasn't remotely close to making the Tourney. Creighton beat Iowa. Arizona St. beat Nebraska.

You really cannot call Oregon St. a also-ran. As you are noting the new landscape of women's hoops, OSU won the Pac 12 3 years in a row, then finished tied for 3rd in a rebuilding year.

You are making the mistake of including "facts" and "accuracy" in your response.

Final: Duke goes to its 18th Sweet 16 with a 66-40 beatdown of Georgia.

TriadDukeFan...Duke gets to stay in the ACC, too!

Mitchell just passed Stiles for #2. Plum's record is going to be safe for a while. Maybe Chennedy Carter will take a run at it.

How do these clocks malfunction so much? My $5 Walmart alarm clock never has a problem and I've had it forever.

The reality of the NCAAT is when the tears flow. Despite how I feel about any player or any team, I do find it a little unsettling to see a player crying...when it hits them that their career and chance to wear their team uniform, is ending.

UConn and South Carolina better beware. That Buffalo team is for real!

No sweat of UConns back but I hope Staley and crew were watching and better get PREPARED!

Miss st struggled wih ok state earlier this year when ok state was missing a key player.

Frankly I hope ok state buries them. I’m tired of seeing that fluke shot by the midget.

Which key player were they missing? Certainly not their stars, Goodwin and Jensen. Actually, they lost Areanna Combs to injury after the MSU game.

I'm happy for Sue Guevara and Central Michigan. She had a tumultuous time at Michigan...but she has got the Central Michigan program rolling.

2 MAC teams in the Sweet 16!

Well...CMU vs. Oregon could be interesting. The game against Minnesota started out as a shootout, but Minnesota couldn't keep pace and Oregon kept rolling. UO's zone defense has caused several opponents problems. It's not a super aggressive trapping zone, but they extend it fairly far and make it difficult to find shots from the perimeter. They really stymied Stanford in the Pac 12 tourney finals.
