Would he have earned his degree by the end of the spring or summer?

Some of us had issues with his play on the field, but the effort and attitude were never questioned. If he is indeed leaving for another program, they are getting a great young man.
Absolutely agree.

Um, could it just be that he was talking about the Big 12?

I actually had this thought as his tweet came out during the moment news started to break about the agreement for the Big 12. Never actually thought about it being about him transferring. If it is I wish the kid all the best.

I know Bonehead will jump all over this, but...

What do you all think?

Obviously you would like me to do so with your call out...

1. Your analysis from watching him play High School football and his arm and game translating to college was way off - stick with analyzing golf swings.

2. You might not have anymore cringe' moments from TB if this tweet is he is leaving - some have mentioned he has been following EKU and Townson.

3. I think it is best if he is moving on - he hasn't been able to take the lead as the QB in his time here and his on field performance up to now, in my eyes, was below par.

4. Not sure what he means by door closed...that interesting choice of words...

5. Go Huskies.

"One door closes and another one opens" could mean:
  • He is contemplating a transfer
  • He is changing positions
  • a reference to a recruit for next season
  • conference realignment issue
  • career goal change(pro player to coaching, staff assistant, sports reporter/analyst)
It could mean anything.

He is a junior (senior for 2016)with one year of eligibility left.
He is playing behind a Sophomore. (Junior for 2016)
We may already have guys on the team and are bringing in additional recruits that will push him further back on the depth chart. That could be perceived as the door closing.
I presume the kid loves football, and feels he can play, the reality of playing at UConn are pretty dim.
If he has a UConn degree at the end of this year and can go somewhere where he can play without sitting a year . Why would't he do it?

at that point, might as well. Has nothing to lose on the field, plus he'll get a head start on a grad degree somewhere.

I thought Boyle never had a redshirt year???

True. And if he goes FCS, of course, he doesn't have to sit, because NCAA rules are arbitrary and stupid.
