I'm out of town and can't be there. Any updates greatly appreciated. Curious about the turnout and of course which players/units stand out. Thx in advance.

Boyle to Abrams for a sweet looking 27 yd TD...dropped it right in, in the end zone, with tight coverage

I'm terrible with estimates but decent crowd.

I'm watching line play closely. Good pass protection but not much running room so far. Whitmer beautiful corner fade to Abrams for 6.

Decent crowd. Whitmer and Boyle both look better than Cochran, but Cochran has always been bad in Spring Games.

Site wont let me upload pics because files are too large.

I'd have to guess 7-8k. D looks good. No one really standing out at qb. Lyle and Max both have decent runs.

Defense looked good. Running back were good when the had room. Max looks huge to me. Lyle was Lyle. Clax was solid. Merriner could be special in a year.Whit and Boyle looked good, Casey.....not so much, but it is just "practice."

I need to seel Wilbert Lee on the field this season.

It was a nice atmosphere today. It wasn't rowdy or noisy by any stretch of the imagination, but in contrast to last year, it was definitely night and day (today being "day"). Good weather and a good sized crowd. I think BoatShow's estimate of 7k is pretty close, but it was hard to tell because there was a lot of in-and-out (late arrivals and early departures).

Overall, a fun experience and hopefully a sign of good things to come this year!

Aside from all the position players I was really pleased by Wain's punting. No shanks, all deep balls with nice hang time. Oh, and Pujols missed an extra point.

Agreed Bezzz.
Very impressive day for Wain.
Puyol- not so much, but it's a small sample size

Night and day to last year. 7k with people coming and going is a fair number.

From the on field session.. the strength and conditioning guys have some work to do.

If you are looking for a couple guys who made some plays:

Stewart was pretty good.
Abrams got separation playing against the 2's.
Lyle played pretty well.
Thought Marder made a couple of good plays.

Whitmer really played well, and his mother couldn't be nicer.

Heard Whitmer make a comment on the field that it's night and day compared to last year. Said it was much more of a positive atmosphere.

All the groups (except one) looked at least competent. I'm not going to feel comfortable with a big late game FG attempt. I'll leave it at that.

Saw uconnbill.......always good to talk football with him.

Players I want to see more of:

Noel Thomas & Thomas Lucas - both stand out

Josh Marriner carried the pile into the end zone for a pretty decent TD run.

Looks like there's a number 1 tight end (Quinn Thompson) - saw a lot of targets.

Wilbert Lee had a nice pick.

QB's (in the perceived order):
Cochran - didn't dominate by any stretch. Had his typical spring game/practice as we've seen previously. Kid steps it up come game action and I expect to see him under center come August.

Whitmer - looked good, but also had the mistakes he had last year. 2 delays early, a scrambled sack for a 16 yard loss to move them back from inside the 20. If not for these stupid mistakes, he'd be really good.

Boyle - his ball is pretty for sure. I would like to see him redshirt, talked to some folks in the parking lots about this, would be nice to get some years between him and Casey.

Wish I could've focused more on the fronts on both sides of ball, but didn't.

Great day. Weather could not have been better.

Both offense and defense had their moments. O-line held up OK for the most part which is encouraging.

For anyone who was there... do you think that the o-lines were arranged by depth chart or mixed up? From what I could tell ... Knappe got a lot of snaps at RT with what appeared to be the first team.

Also, one of the best crowds in years. Nice weather definitely aided that. They also opened up the 2nd level for the first time that I can remember (although it wasn't needed by any stretch). I would say right around 7,000. We pulled in about 11:20 and it looked like the Memphis game in the middle section of the blue lot for a couple hours before nicely filling up. If all the tailgaters went in for the game, would have been a very very nice showing. We had 14 in our group and only 7 made it inside.
