But once you get here you can't leave - too hot today for planes to take off from PHX airport

We did a week in the southeast of Costa Rica last fall (daughter wanted to see the sloths, which we did!). This was from a canoe trip on the edge of the rain forest. A couple more to follow.

Beautiful pictures Scud! I've been to Moraine and Louise, but haven't seen Peyto. That's a great area, 2 other NPs immediately neighboring Banff (Yoho and Kootenay) as well as several Provincial Parks close by (some of which are just as good as the NPs). You won't run out of incredible mountain scenery any time soon in BC and Alberta.

Thanks NW- we did visit both Kootenay and Yoho, and yes, can't agree more...! Here's an early morning duck-

So many places to visit, so little time. I haven't made it to Jasper NP or Assinboine and Mt. Robson Provincial Parks so far. I'd love to some day. Not that I've seen everything worth seeing at the places I have been, either.

More important - who has to mow it? :(

I did a rough calc a couple of years ago and figured that I've spent at least 3 months of my life on my lawn mower.
Hopefully, it's quality time full of your life's fond reflections.

One more from Costa Rica. We'd been hearing howler monkeys pretty much the whole time we were there. The day we were waiting for a van to the airport, they were a lot louder. Turned out they were right at the end of the street. This is a pic of one. An aside -- our flight out of San Jose was canceled because of a volcanic eruption, so we had to take a bus to the other international airport and fly out the following day.

A mindless activity that is the opposite of go go go. Recharging as you go over the mowing pattern

My kids hated the food in Strasbourg. I had some awful potato sour cream dish as well.

The snails were out of this world!!!

I've always wanted to like snails, but they are after all ... snails. ugh. The best part of eating snails is the part of the Pretty Woman movie where the escargot shell goes flying.
