Mentioned this last night. Swain left the game in the 2nd half with a leg injury. After the game, Miller said it was a sprained ankle and X rays were negative. Obviously not sure of his availability for Saturday night, but Xavier only goes about 8 deep, so his presence is huge.

Also, Maddox had 22 against us in the first game. He has 32 total points since then, with 14 coming against Marquette the game after.
Maddox was 5-9 from three against us. He’s 6-21 in 8 the games since. He was 4-19 in the 8 games prior

Where did you see that? I saw UConn favored by 1.5.

Thanks. The opening odds I saw were UConn -1.5 and now it's flipped to UConn +1.5. Not surprised based on how UConn has played recently and that Xavier lost to St. John's.

Even if he plays, an ankle will definitely affect Swain's ability to defend at the level we are used to seeing with him.

IF Swain is out, expect more Jerome Hunter at the 4 and even some small(er) ball w/ Marcus Foster (6'5 215) at the 4. Chance for Hugley to play more 5 too w/ Freemantle moving over to 4, but Hugley has played under 8 minutes in five of the last seven.

Doomed....

No. 19 UConn at Xavier

8 p.m. | Fox, fuboTV (Try for free) -- UConn finds itself in unfamiliar territory heading into a road matchup against Xavier. The Huskies have already lost two games against Big East competition heading into the last weekend of January after losing two total games in conference play last season. UConn needed overtime to defeat Butler in its last matchup, and despite being an underdog on the road, should come away with a win over an Xavier team that's won three of its last four games. Prediction: UConn +2 -- Salerno

Liam isn't walking through the door to play tonight. Play with the guys you have. Need tough D and Boards. Neutralize Freemantle as well as possible. Win 50-50 balls. If we can get productivity out of our second unit-esp. Reed and Mahaney- we should be able to squeeze out a W. If we can get freedom of movement on offense we should be fine. Stay close in the first half-close the deal in the last two minutes. UConn by 3

Apologies in advance for the positivity.

They need a W to keep their tourney hopes alive. Our offense is ugly without Liam. I hope Im wrong but I think they win by 10+

I don’t feel great about this one - Xavier needs it more and coming off a painful loss. Another game where we get to see if this group has stones. The one game that they’ve shown some is Gtown so far and even there had their ugly finish, which was so counter to the consistency this teams needs to establish.

Will be there plus 2. I think there are too many factors to point to A win by Xavier. Hopefully the good guys prove me wrong!
