Xavier Post Game Thread

Isn’t that where the kid Wolf from Yale went?

As a point of comparison, Xavier's NET is 78 spots ahead of Ga Tech, which lost to Duke by 6 in Cameron tonight. It was a one possession game with 90 seconds left.

KenPom brutalized Duke for that win. They're now down to 9th. We moved up to 6th.
Up to number two defensive efficiency. A LONG way from last year’s struggles on that side of the ball.

Braylon is 0-for-3 on behind-the-back dribbles.

My daughter who knows nothing about basketball said I dont think he should do that anymore.

Just got back to Columbus from the game and happy we excised th demons from a few years ago when we went and lost there.

Great overall team game though we stalled on offense when we stopped pushing the ball. Super happy everyone got involved and played a part!

Who among us did not want to buy a helicopter through the Neiman Marcus catalog?
A good day for UConn basketball. Back to back convincing wins for Women and Men

Tarris looked good. Ball, Mullins and AK make it easy when hitting shots. Loved the alley oop from Mullins to Solo. Need more of those. AK’s jam was pretty cool as well.
Was at the game. It was great to go wire to wire. Many good games from many players. Fun ride home the 3 miles up Montgomery road. Happy New Year Husky fans. This could be a fun 2026!

Last game I will miss while traveling to Philippines for 3 weeks. I will be back early Sunday morning to see the Marquette game later that day. Great win and a nice birthday present to me for January 1st. I will have to watch the game when posted. I'm excited ro see how the team is growing. Happy New Years ro all Husky Nation from Philippines 🇵🇭.

I may be wrong, but I think I saw Demary finally playing above the curve. Could he finally becoming more comfortable running the offense? Thought he was better than Smith.
Silas has been much better running the offense for about the past 3-4 games, the offense dies in Smith's hands too much with him ballpounding while guys are flashing off cuts and coming off screens that he doesn't see or deliver the ball on time to.

I didn't watch this game, but it is possible to be critical of Solo while also understanding his value to this team. They go hand in hand because he plays so many minutes.

He needs to be better in every other facet of the game if we are going to get this season to the finish line. 100% he's the key to the season.

This doesn't make any sense. He was great in every facet of the game tonight?

Let’s just say you needed to watch the game before that hot take.

It's not a hot take, if you're convinced he's a key cog player that you can win a championship with prior to this game...I disagree. He needs to play better defense, pass better, shoot the three with a dagger mindset, etc. This player has at least 5 airballs this season...

Long story short, someone in this thread mentioned the Solo haters. My point was that you can root for a player while still understanding it's going to take more than him being a glass cannon.

Good game from him? Ok. Track record? He's a 3rd year in this program, he should stack more games like this if it was a multi-faceted effort from him. No one is a hater vs him....just saying he hasn't been a consistent winning player.

Demary Jr.
Ball
Mullins
Karaban
Reed Jr.

Smith
Ross
Stewart
Reibe

This 9-man rotation is going to make history and win titles. Fully healthy and firing at the right time they will be a problem for everyone.

Not as dominant, so far, as the all-time great five of Tristen, Cam, Steph, Alex, Donovan in 2024. With Hassan and Samson, probably the best duo off the bench in the country, plus freshman Jaylin Stewart.

Can the legit 9-man rotation grow to be bulletproof is my question.

Silas — Tristen
Solo — Cam
Mullins — Castle
Karaban — Karaban
Reed jr. — Clingan

Malachi — Hassan
Reibe — Samson
Stewart — Stewart
Ross — n/a

I hope the 9-man rotation lasts because all 9 contributors are too good not to be utilized and all the pieces fit masterfully.
