I’d go back and rewatch that one. I don’t disagree with your overall hypothetical premise, but he slid in to McNeeley when Liam had already turned the corner. It was not a legal guarding position and was 100% a foul by the rules and one that is probably called in any other situation. Refs swallowed their whistle because of the situation and I’m sure their realization that the last 30 seconds had been a total embarrassment for them. All worked out at least.A defender has rights to his space on the floor. That was closer to ankle level, and Liam tripped across his lower leg as the defender was sliding.
Can someone address Reed getting a foul for a screen when he was standing as still as a statue and a player smashed into him? Didn’t see movement there.
Their top 4 scorers are shooting 43%, 38%, 47%, and 44% from 3 this season...Jimmy Chitwood is not playing for Butler.

His defenseRoss: in 19 mins he was 0,2,0 with 1 steal, 2 blocks, 4 PFs and had a +/- of -13.
Can someone tell me why he deserves 19 minutes?
Defense. He has no offensive game to speak of. Perhaps rushed but even missed a breakaway layup yesterday. Don’t find him to be much of a natural basketball player out there, everything looks a bit awkward. Thought the same last year in his minimal minutes then the Sept hype train came. Good athlete.Ross: in 19 mins he was 0,2,0 with 1 steal, 2 blocks, 4 PFs and had a +/- of -13.

He was leaning forward. That is a no no.Can someone address Reed getting a foul for a screen when he was standing as still as a statue and a player smashed into him? Didn’t see movement there.
These refs were influenced greatly by the embellishments of the players when contact was made. They reacted to the head movement and the flailing arms more than the actual contact. That was the case on a couple of Ross fouls and certainly the case on the Reed "moving" pick. That was awful to see as went back to look and asked myself “what can any ref see there to make any call?”….horrible. Not movement at all completely set. It’s like the guy hadn’t blown the whistle for a while and thought it was time, I don’t get it?
Reason was Anal-Immersional-Myopic-SyndroneThe foul call on Ross with 9 seconds left in regulation was BS. The Xavier player (Maddox?) threw his head back when he brushed his teammate who set the screen and got the call, Ross didn't touch the him. It smelled of a make-up call but the call on McNeeley was legit.
I was a bit relieved however as I was worried X would launch a contested three and hit it.
I also don't get how they missed McNeeley getting tripped at the end of regulation.

Thanks, Gurleyman!you have it right. Donyell had 42 against St. John’s twice that season. His 20-20 at the line was during the regular season. He was 10-10 line in the BE quarters.
I don’t know about that, the Baylor game was about as loud as I’ve ever heard Gampel or XL.
You don't know the difference between fact and opinion.I disagree with your opinion and you call me a liar. Great talk.
Alex I believe had a foul called on him for that exact same thing in the tournament last year I believe in the Final Four vs Alabama.
Matt Potter is one of the 3 worst officials in the Big East along with Breeding and Chiazza. He tries to goad coaches into reacting. He smirks at the student section at Gampel when they taunt him. He is just bad.Can someone address Reed getting a foul for a screen when he was standing as still as a statue and a player smashed into him? Didn’t see movement there.
He was being subbed with McNeeley for defensive possessions only. If you only play on the defensive side of the ball, you can only rack up a negative plus/minus. It's one of the reasons it's overrated as a stat.Ross: in 19 mins he was 0,2,0 with 1 steal, 2 blocks, 4 PFs and had a +/- of -13.

I don't know who's dumber. Me, for taking on faith you had reading comprehension skills. Or you for telling someone they are wrong and posting proof that they were right. And not providing your own mea culpa. "It 100% was the BET!" LO freaking L!You are wrong. It 100% was the BET

Calling someone a liar for an opinion comes from a point of ignorance, drunkenness or plain stupidity.I disagree with your opinion and you call me a liar. Great talk.
Did you go to the Baylor game? That’s what I thought.
In section 108 there were at least 50 people who didn’t stand up until the last 4 minutes. There were rows of empty seats behind the basket. The students were on break.
I love the Civic Center. Been to numerous games where the atmosphere was better. I didn’t say it was bad, just that it wasn’t close to top 20 and recently Baylor. In fact, instead of talking about the game and celebrating it, your first post brings up this tired narrative about how civic center is better.
It was the most blatant makeup call in the history of makeup callsThe foul call on Ross with 9 seconds left in regulation was BS. I thought the same thing. It's also why McNeeley's trip wasn't called. It's as if the embarrassment of the weakness of the call against Xavier in that moment caused them to overcorrect and screw it up even worse. It was the most blatant makeup call in the history of makeup calls
The crowd was great in the 2nd half last night but overall fell short compared to the Baylor or Gonzaga games, and I was at all 3, sitting in comparable seats for all 3 games. 5 minutes into the game, I was thinking that I wished the crowd had as much energy as the Gonzaga crowd. Half of my section did not stand up and clap to start the 2nd half. The crowd was great from the time UConn tied it at 69 to the end. Before that, the energy was sporadic. You don't know the difference between fact and opinion.

Because either you play Jayden Ross or you play Mahaney. At least Ross can play defense.Ross: in 19 mins he was 0,2,0 with 1 steal, 2 blocks, 4 PFs and had a +/- of -13.
