Would you pay for a subscription (monthly, annually, etc.) to the boneyard if all of the proceeds were donated to UConn Athletics? I would.

I'm not sure if that's even possible and there are likely pros/cons I'm not considering but the thought that every bit helps.

I would, if and only if Fishy and Chapavaug both signed up - man's gotta be entertained.

probably not, sorry I already go to a lot of the games(mainly basketball but also some of the other sports), in CT and elsewhere as well as buying a lot of merchandise... i like how its free, i enjoy going on this board, at times its frustrating.... also idk if they would want to be associated with a majority of us too, have you seen the comments?!

Adding a fee to it means the -posting will only go up. "I'M PAYING FOR THIS, I'LL POST WHAT I DAMN WANT"

It would also severely limit if not destroy inter-fanbase interaction, which I'll admit would have some benefit (i.e. no more PC losers).

If it went to a good charity, people in need or individual scholarships , I would. Imagine if the proceeds could give a football or basketball walk-on a scholarship or if the boneyard elites could pass out toys at a game. That would be worth the money.

Nope.

The Boneyard is priceless, but I did give in excess of a reasonable subscription fee when I was asked to make a cardiac unit donation to honor JC's retirement.

Also, I can't stop saying your screen name and wondering what it means.

Definitely not, its nice to have this place to come when theres breaking news likely happening (like after a championship run when we're wondering who will stay and who will go), but for the most part this is a forum to bullsht with fellow UConn diehards and argue about numbers and such. Don't have any money in the budget to blow on something like that

No. Site traffic would decrease. If the athletic department wants money, go to the games. I do, and its more fun.

I would to support some of the writers who work for the blog. They seem to be doing some really great work and spending time going to campus and such. Like that kid Matt Schovsky (sic?), I assume he isn't getting paid.

If you did some kind of paid thing you would have to 1) make a premium board and 2) have some kind of premium content.

The last board had this and 98% of posts were not on the premium board and there were maybe 4 or 5 things a year on the premium board that were known there before everywhere else. There was also almost no premium content as that's really tough to get these days with kids like 3uconn outworking anyone looking for $ to publish premium content.

A good example would be espn insider. There is no special information you're paying for there - just some opinions from people to drive subscriptions. All of the important content is free and can easily be found elsewhere.

If you want to raise money for donation, come up with a concept to donate to (like a gift for JCs retirement which will be hard to top), post it on the board and work your ass off to get donations. That's what we did.

No.

This board does provide something of value, which arguably should be worth money, but I couldn't bring myself to pay for access to an online message board.

I would subscribe to chap's personal blog (but only if he has an active "comments" section as the mass melt downs are actually more entertaining than chaps actual posts)
I would subscribe to ringside seats to Fishy random throat punchings
Quite Frankly - I would subscribe to Chief's recruiting and general "inside scoop" services
I would subscribe to a CAHusky filthy Haiku newsletter
I would subscribe to TCF15's permium gif service but only for the Syracuse .gifs and the disgusted JC shots.

Other than that, no.

I already give to UConn athletics. The Boneyard detour would probably not qualify for a tax deduction.

Probably not. I'd probably find a new outlet for my unproductivity at work. I find pay sites to be smug, like they are the other ones with access to the information.

UConn and it's Athletic Dept. is elite, not elitist.

I think this site works best when donation's are voluntary.

What I think would be cool, though, is if we could donate to UConn athletics via a specific boneyard fund (purely for accounting purposes) and track those donations, on an annual basis, on the website. I think it would encourage, without requiring, donations. And, more importantly, it would be a definitive way to point to the 'yards influence on UConn Athletics by aggregating our combined influence.
