Going back before that. I think it was 1988 when Jeff King (may he RIP) threw the ball away vs Syracuse. I was listening in on the radio back in high school and couldn't go back to sleep after the game. Didn't go to school the next day. After that no loss really hurts, except the GM game.Going back a touch over 5 yrs, but my worst in person loss, @ Miami, stolen inbounds, Darius Rice ... 3. Hurt my Soul. Called out sick the next day from work.
I could easily make a list with the 2010 season alone.
Exactly and this season's game against Marquette sent shivers into my body that it will be a repeat of 2010. Posted this in a different thread.2010 was a rough year. So close in so many games but just couldn't finish. If 2-3 plays go differently that team is in the NCAAT and the Dyson/Robinson arguments are left to a minimum.
That season was brutal. How many games did an opposing team make a half court basket at the buzzer before half time. It was the polar opposite of the next season.
The thing about that NC season was I never felt the clock was turning back. It was like the previous season took all the bad mojo with it and left the next season with nothing but good.Until the championship game. When Shelvin Mack hit that 3 to end the half, I thought the clock had struck midnight and we were turning back into a pumpkin.
Instead, we came out and dominated the second half. Thank God.
This one is going way back 1987-88 I believe.
Stevie Thompson of Cuse stole an inbounds pass from Pikell or Jeff King(I believe one was inbounding to the other) for a breakaway dunk and the win at the HCC.
Are you sure it wasn't Murray Williams inbounding that one? I do remember though, tough loss.........
