While this will never happen (the powers that be in US soccer would kill the idea before it got off the ground) something like this is exactly what we need to lift our level of play to where winning a couple games in knockout rounds won't be a pipe dream.

That one just before penalties was disgraceful. A 84 year old lady, with a cane, would just say “excuse me” when taking a bump like that. He acted like he took a 12 gauge to the gut.
 
Argentina is the epitome of South American soccer - diving, overacting and unbelievable poor sportsmen.
I am so hoping the 3 Lions get a chance to mop the field with them in the finals
Messi is talented but he has tainted his image with his antics
How he got away without a card on that handball is unbelievable

Nothing over there is shocking. Terrible, very sad, but not shocking consider it's Qatar.
 
ARG/NED was a fantastic game and Messi has been .........well Messi like. I hope he wins the cup.

I liked Argentina but found myself rooting for the Dutch. Messi, just unbelievable, but his act overshadows even his amazing talent. Just the worst sportsmen some of these players. That said, Argentina could have scored about 5 goals in the 2nd overtime. They can flat out find the goal, or at least the goal post. Just watching them move the ball and kick it, amazing.

Go Croatia!!
 
Atlas LIons are a pleasure to watch, very clinical how they break the pressure.

I continued to watch but thought the match was over after Neymar scored. Croatia does not give up. What a nice goal by Neymar

The cards need to be more consistent and fair. Didn't a player from Morocco receive a yellow for taking off his shirt?
 
So, with all the talk about how the US doesn’t have the talent and depth to compete with the big boys…is Morocco that much better than us? I’m not familiar with their team outside of Ziyech, who’s played even less than Pulisic at Chelsea.

They’ve been lucky. Portugal was denied a penalty at the end of 1H that was much clearer than the one Argentina got yesterday. Fortunately with the red card, France will destroy them.

It takes more than than luck to defeat Belgium, Spain, Portugal and draw Croatia in 2 weeks. Portugal shouldn’t have to rely on a PK just to tie the game.

The red card was a substitute who has barely played in the WC. They may get destroyed, but his absence won’t be why. They‘ve still only given up one own goal in five games - and have shutouts over Belgium, Croatia, Spain and Portugal. If France destroys them, it’s more a credit to France than a knock on Morocco.
