Lead is down to 4. Chicago all out of sorts. Parker hasn't scored in forever. DeShields taking some terrible shots.
 
Chicago is 3-17 from behind the arc. Brutal.

edit--make it 3-19. 55-50 thru Q3. Chicago is trying really hard to give this game away after they got off to a fantastic start. Just standing around taking turns jacking up shots, absolutely awful offense the entire 3rd quarter.
 
Good effort on the defensive end by Dallas to get the game to 55-50. Mabrey is so sneaky.

Chicago stopped settling for the first available 3 and has built the lead back up to 8. Parker finally scored again, now 2 buckets in a row.
 
Parker has missed about half a dozen bunnies, 2 on one possession. I think she started 3-5 shooting, she's now 5-15. Yeah, 14 reb./7 assists, but how in the world can she miss so many easy shots? If she hits her gimmes this game is totally over already.

Followed by 4? missed bunnies but Dallas counters by forcing shots. Shame Sabally is playing hurt. She is going to be scary good. Dolson rock solid on defense.
 
Now it's over. Sloot w/ a little scoring barrage.
 
Jeez Sloot has scored 9 in about a minute. She's up to 17 pts/8 reb/6 assists.

Why are they interviewing Parker? Copper was the player of the game, and Sloot closed it out for them. Parker had a nice stat line but missed so many easy shots all during the 2nd half.

And she agrees with me.
 
This is gonna be ugly. Phoenix up 19-8. NY bricking 3's, that's their only chance is if they are hot behind the arc. Not happening.

Sabrina is the only one who looks ready. Laney has not been strong most of the second half of the season.
 
Allen has gotten stuck guarding Griner several times and Phoenix isn't exploiting the mismatch.


NY has shot their way back into the game, 21-19 now.

Almost thru Q1, Griner has 1 FGA against a miniature lineup. That just can't happen for the Merc.
 
Lib have taken the lead. Didi Richards enters the game and turns into a scoring machine.
 
When Liberty knock down 3pt shots, they are dangerous. Lead 41-37 at half and only 4TO. :eek:
 
Lib leading 41-37 at halftime. Merc gotta find a way to get Griner more shots--she's 3-5. That and her teammates gotta make NY pay for the constant double teaming.

Never seen Skyler (unless you count ND) and Peddy shoot so poorly. Nurse is playing very solidly

We didn't get to see enough of it this season, but Ionescu to Howard is kinda looking like Ionescu to Hebard at Oregon, at least in this game.
 
Wow. After a lengthy review, a Cunningham 3 was wiped off the board due to a foul away from the ball before the shot. So Sophie knocks down another 3 and gets fouled for a 4 point play.

Cunningham is 2-2 while Peddy is 2-10. Why is the one playing more than the other? Merc have a quick 6-0 run to tie it up.
 
Sophie drills another 3, then gets T'd up for taunting. She's definitely turned the tide of this game. Brondello in all her wisdom waited until midway thru Q3 to get her on the court.

edit--another, she's 4-4
 
60-58 Merc thru Q3.

Laney is having a good game, but I don't like her shot selection. She always launches just some awful shots.
 
Peddy back on the floor and misses 2 more shots. 0-8 behind the arc. Why is she in the game?
 
SDS is getting isolated against bigger players and abused on defense.
