Taking games off didn't do Stewie any favors. 12-41 shooting the last 2 games. That's not gonna get it done.

Such an uphill battle. Storm got to within 1 several times, but it was a real struggle, and then Minnesota always responded w/ a run.

Not particularly good games for any of the Storm starters. Bench brought some energy, but not a whole lot of scoring.
Ezi needs to replace Russell in the starting lineup. Russell lacks any real offensive game. She also limits the room for others to drive. Russell was a good backup on 2 championship teams, but is not talented enough to Start for a championship team.

Sun beat Aces by 14.

Was the Commissioner's Cup game a complete apparition? Hard to give much credence to the result at this point. Connecticut and Seattle going in opposite directions since then.

Seattle treated that like it was the Championship. Maybe it was in a way. Probably not as big a payday involved with the WNBA Season Championship. Between the games off for Sue and Stewie and the emotional letdown they have been flat since then. At any rate they gambled those games off would help but so far they have switched the momentum. I doubt they would have lost a couple of those games if Stewie and Sue kept going. Now they risk losing the home court if they don't pick it up.

I see Tina Charles missed the game today due to a gluteal strain. Hope that's not long term.

Unfortunately Ezi is completely inconsistent. You're as likely to get almost nothing from her as you are a good performance.

Did you see Russell against the Mystics the previous game? She was really good (so was Ezi).

Ezi needs the playing time, she is only 22, and at that age needs to play to get better. Plus she doesn't take up space inside, she can actually shoot from the perimeter, and put the ball on the floor, and drive to the hoop.
Seattle has a lot of bad 1st quarters, where either the offense, or defense is bad. Russell isn't going to get better, and averaging 6.5 points per game in 25 minutes doesn't get in done in the WNBA.

76-70 final, Lynx snap a long losing streak against Seattle.

I'm gonna be fairly surprised if the Storm repeat as Champs. Just doesn't look like they have what it takes this year.

Collier did what she's been doing lately, wasn't having a very good game but then hit some big buckets late to seal the win.

Syl w/ 29 pts/20 rebs/4 steals/3 blocks...and no fouls. Which is ridiculous because I saw several times she knocked a Seattle player to the floor, but she's foul proof at home apparently.
They let way, way, way too much talent get away in Clark & Whitcomb.

Ezi got off to a real slow start this season. She seems to be playing better since they cut Dupree, but it's still up and down. Maybe force feeding her minutes is the way to go. Russell has her moments, but she's also inconsistent.

A score that truly is not indicative of the game. Mystics were up by 35 or so, final margin only 10. Starters got plenty of rest. Looks like EDD and Hines-Allen went off early and then hardly played in the 2nd half.
Easily their best first half of the season. No Meesseman for the Mystics this season.

Russell was a good backup, but the flow of Seattle's offense is hurt with her in the game. Ezi is much quicker, they can play 5 out with Ezi.
Seattle also likes to switch on defense, Russell is lost when she has to guard on the perimeter. Howard was the biggest loss, because she fit the system, and that is the way Ezi plays. If Seattle wants to win championships, Ezi needs to play.

Minnesota needs Clarendon to make better decisions and stop making so many bad passes. That shot she took near the end of the game with no press or defensive pressure and plenty of time on the shot clock, could have cost the Lynx the game.

By the way it would have been nice if Ezi had gone to Uconn, this season could have been her last, unless she did like Collier went early.

Liberty down 9-2 early in Q1. This could get UGLY

Huh. I've been impressed w/ Russell's quickness guarding on the perimeter. I think she's a decent defender, never mind last night. I'm not sure about her clogging up the offense either. When Stewie, Loyd and Bird are all clunking shots like they did to start this game, it doesn't matter who is on the floor with them. The Storm aren't really built on aggressively attacking off the dribble. Anyway Russell has been a backup on the Championship teams, but she was a starter on a team w/out Stewie and Bird who still managed to make the playoffs and win a first round series.

Outshooting your opponent 79% to 25% for an opening quarter is probably a winning formula.

What happened to Laney? Early on she looked like a MVP candidate. Now she can't shoot at all. Seems to get worse every game.

After cutting the Mercury Lead to 10 (89-79), Phoenix ends 17-0 but BG hurts her ankle with < 2 minutes left and 20 pt lead. Coaching Malpractice keeping your indispensable star in, Even then, DT and Diggins-Smith were kept on the court some more.

Diana had one of her best games in a while after a tough shooting first half. Just total domination with her mind. And there is no ;prettier shot than Diggins-Smith's rainbow 3.

Today officially makes no sense. Right after the Sun thumped the Aces, they're barely beating the Sparks...right after the Sparks got destroyed by the Mystics. Don't try to figure any of that out.

Aces trailed at half but beat the Dream (losers of 17 of 19 now). Front court carried the load, Wilson, Cambage and Hamby scored almost all of the points. Plum couldn't shoot but did dish 8 assists. Box score shows McCoughtry played, but less than a minute. Did anybody know she was going to return this year?

For the Dream, I don't think they ever get more than 2 of their guards playing well in the same game, and too often it's only 1 of them.

Wings and Mystics going down to the wire, in a game with huge playoff implications. Both definitely in the thick of the battle for #8 (or maybe #7?).

Dallas pulls it out. That's a big blow to Washington's playoff hopes.

Not a good game for Arike haters. She had 25 shooting 50% from the floor and dished 9 assists, while her team won. Have to look pretty hard to find a negative spin for this one.

I hadn't realized Blake Dietrick is still in the league. That's two Princeton alumnae in the W.

. Billings was great and Tiffany looking aggressive in her comeback but looks like she gets hurt on almost every play. Super scary. And Aari looking really good. Real spitfire but Super rough game for C Williams. In quite a funk lately

She is athletic enough to stay in the league. Had so many 3pt shots that just rimmed out today. Frustrating.

Tina missing her 2nd straight game to injury is the biggest blow. If she doesn't come back they're up the creek anyway. Only 12 minutes from DD. It's going to take her a while to return to form.

It's not like they were winning games w/ Charles.
