Yvonne Ejim #33 to Indiana!
Ryan Ruocco did mention that possibility late in the broadcast, plus her age and injury history.Any GM who selects Prince has to think long and hard about potential blowback.
Is it possible Sedona Prince isn't going to get drafted? Is she blacklisted? With her age you could say she doesn't have much upside left, but she's still 6-7 with some skills.
It's been a great comfort blanket, so to speak. The season will be starting next month. I don’t know if you still consider this the offseason but you guys will want to wrap this thread up
Holly Rowe referred to Shyanne getting engaged that week and they cut to her fiancee. Was that Faith Masonius, her former Maryland teammate who finished up at Seton Hall?Shyanne Sellers #17 to Golden St.
I had heard it was a former teammate but couldn't remember the name. I think you are correct.Holly Rowe referred to Shyanne getting engage that week and they cut to her fiancee? Was that Faith Masonius, her former Maryland teammate who finished up at Seton Hall?
Yup. Me too...I thought she'd go higher with her court awareness, savvy, scoring ability and height. I think she'll stick.Serena Sundell #26 to Seattle. Like that pick.

Isn't Faith draft eligible? Or isn't she WNBA worthy? (Not directed at you specifically @MilfordHusky )Yes, Sellers and Masonius. Faith flashed her ring at the draft.
I can see why the Mystics decided against Morrow since they already have a similar player in Shakira Austin.Just seeing the draft results now, my thoughts are:
1. I'm glad to see Prince didn't get drafted. There aren't a lot of spots in the league and I'm glad one isn't going to someone with all of her off court issues.
2. Aneesah Morrow is the best value pick in the draft at #7. She's also going to Connecticut who has lost a ton of talent and she should have a great opportunity to get big minutes early. I think she's going to be a beast in the league similar to Angel Reese. I also think the Mystics made a mistake by not drafting her, though I understand their logic by building their post core around Edwards/Iriafen/Austin/Dolson.
3. Rooting for Sarah Ashlee Barker to get drafted and find her place in the league. She plays her heart out every time she steps on the court. I'm glad to see she bumped up to the 1st round.
4. Dallas had a great draft. Any of the nonsense about Paige refusing to join was finally put to rest, James is great value at 12 and Madison Scott could be a really solid pro if she develops her game a little more. Physically she's one of the best prospects in the draft.
5. Despite this being a weak draft, I think a lot of the second round picks could actually make a roster. I wouldn't be shocked to see players like Lucy Olsen, Bree Hall, Sania Feagin, Makayla Timpson and Rayah Marshall carve out careers if put in the right situation.
That is correct.
Maryland even posted a congratulatory message which I thought was cool.
Katie opted out of the WNBA draft. McConnell has accepted a training camp invite with the Mercury.I'm kinda bummed neither Katie Dinnebier or Megan McConnell was called.
Faith is eligible. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her get a training camp contract if she’s interested. She has some skills, but might be a tweener - not big enough for a forward, not quick enough/a good enough shot to be a guard in the W.Isn't Faith draft eligible? Or isn't she WNBA worthy? (Not directed at you specifically @MilfordHusky )
Faith most certainly has skills, smarts and moxie. I fear that recent ACL took some of the first-step quickness she once had away.Faith is eligible. PS — I was surprised how low Sellers went. She’s a big quick point guard, maybe too turnover prone?

Whoa...saw that UConn, ND, NC State, Alabama and S. Carolina all had three players drafted last night.
However, folks who started at or came into Chapel Hill didn't hear their names.
Not current Tar Heels Alyssa Ustby, Maria Gakdeng or Lexi Donarski
Not former ones Deja Kelly (Oregon) or Kennedy Todd-Willams (UNC)
If I'm an enterprising GM who wants a truly great athlete who will be all over the court and do anything, I'd bring Ustby in for a tryout. She's the PG/vanilla version of Emily Engstler. She'll need to extend her range, but defense, passing, hustle and heart.
Gakdeng is just as good, or not better IMHO, as Feagin's performance this year...but it helps to be affiliated with teams that perform.
I like it too. I've always liked her game, and the big thing she has going for her as 1 guard is you can't teach size. Give her a year or two to get stronger, and I can see her carving out a successful career.Serena Sundell #26 to Seattle. Like that pick.
Skylar Diggins-Smith is in control of the Storm this year, so Sundell can take everything in.....and then start making contributions.I like it too. Terrifying.Skylar Diggins-Smith is in control of the Storm this year, so Sundell can take everything in.....and then start making contributions.
Man....this has got to stop. The situation in Seattle is different than what happened in Phoenix. There's nothing indicating Diggins-Smith is an issue with the Storm.Terrifying.
Did anyone tell Quinn?
