As one with strong ties to the State of Maine, I really hope Holmes sticks around for a few years, and that Quinn figures out how to use her properly. She has great foot work on offense and defense, and has shown occasional range to her shot. I assume she worked on that a lot during her rehab. I still remember seeing footage of her the year the Dance was cancelled, shooting baskets and working on moves. Outside in Maine in the snow.

I remember those videos. Reminded me of MBB player from Newfoundland by the name of Carl English who would do the same, but his workout location wasn't his driveway. Both being from small towns not known for basketball and their commitment to getting better regardless of location, weather, etc., is something to appreciate and admire.

As most of us know, Annie Costabile works for the Chicago Sun Times and is the beat reporter, who has expanded her coverage to include the entire WNBA....all year. While she has an Annie Costabile X account, she recently opened up "The Annie Room," which not only reports news and updates, but rumors. She has her sources and an upbeat, breezy way about her.
Here's the link to The Annie Room X account:

Here's her "normal" twitter account:

Connecticut Sun Sign Forwards Diaby, Amy Okonkwo

Okonkwo played collegiately in the States (U$C, Texas Christian) and both have represented their countries, while also playing
in the Ligue Féminine de Basketball (LFB) in France.

The player formerly known as Maria Vadeeva is returning to the Sparks. Now Maria Kliundikova. She was supposed to be a big thing once upon a time. Hasn't played in the WNBA since 2019.

Annie said in January that "The Annie Room" is not her account. She has said she wouldn't trust what they're "reporting" because she has no idea who it is. For some reason, I can't see updated tweets on her account in the Computer, but my phone shows she responded to "Mongo Slade" 1/27/25 explaining it's not her account.

Interesting....because for some time the content material was common (then again, that's not a hard thing to do on the internet).
So, if the "Annie's" are separate, we'll have two sources.

Speaking of that, this post looks like Kayla McBride will do a short -- as in the playoffs -- for Fenerbahce after Unrivaled is over.
They must really want K-Mac and must be paying appreciably for her to not take a break. It was posted on Annie's Room, but I thought the Turkish version of it worked just fine. ;)

I just watched a Laeticia Amihere interview and she stated that she was picked up by the Valkyrie. I'm happy all the cut Gamecocks on the fringes of the league are getting picked up. Now I'm waiting for some Saxton news.
Saxton got injured at Athlete's Unlimited, she was doing well before the injury. The injury was never specified but she posted on IG that she was going have to surgery either yesterday or today.

Oh no! :(

Wow, Storm are really stocking up on back court players. Seems like some will be casualties of cuts.

I believe the Storm got a decent pickup in Lexie. She has a 2 year protected contract in the 90s. She was turning into quite the shooter before her medical diagnosis. If they can get that Lexie that would make them that much more dangerous.

Brianna Turner Signs With Fever

After one year at Chicago, former WNBA All-Defensive forward signs with the Indian Fever, where she can back up Natasha Howard, Aaliyah Boston, et all. "Breezy Bri" probably won't play that much more than she did for the Sky, but her new team -- the Fever -- will probably be winning more games. And she'll back with former Mercury teammate, Sophie Cunningham.

Mercury teammate, Sophie Cunningham.

Both Turner and Cunningham are fortunate to have escaped. Sophie was doing some color on the Phoenix Suns broadcast and she was pretty good so hopefully she'll be able to continue developing that part of her career in the Midwest.
