Free agent Myisha Hines-Allen will make a decision between Phoenix, L.A. and Dallas.WNBAThreads
To continue those rear-view ruminations:Would Carrington have emerged the way she did? Would they have traded for Mabrey?
Would have to think the Mercury negotiations with Sabally would take precedence.![]()

They can have her.Vanderslooot expected to go back to the sky
Interesting ownership group partnership. I like it.
No Intel. Rogers had very little visibility in PHX.Monica Wright Rogers Will be GM of the Toronto Tempo
Has put in time in a lot of capacities, as a player, assistant coach, administrator, etc. (Solid player in college and for the Lynx.) She'd been with the Phoenix Mercury for two years, but this still struck me as a bit of a leap to be the first-ever general manager of a franchise. Is she a rising star or is there that small a hiring pool in these positions? Plus, the Mercury haven't exactly been lighting it up the last few years.
@azfan -- Given your knowledge, is there anything you can impart?

Wright Rogers tabbed as GM of expansion Tempo
Monica Wright Rogers will be the first general manager of the expansion Toronto Tempo, Klutch Sports' Andy Miller told ESPN on Wednesday.www.espn.com
Love it! We need more W representation in the south. What would be their color scheme? It would feel wrong if it differed from Tennessee's colors. Maybe they'll use Summit blue as the dominant color with different accent colors?2 minutes ago
There’s a bid for Nashville to land an expansion WNBA team named the Tennessee Summitt in honor of legendary Lady Vols coach Pat Summitt and facilitated by Candace Parker and Peyton Manning.
Bill Haslam is the leader. Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are also on board.
That's a huge leap from where they are now. I fear the talent would be spread too thin at that point.I would love a 20 or 24 team league.

I would love a 20 or 24 team league. That seems like the perfect size. Adding Nashville would bump it up to 16 including Golden State, Portland and Toronto.
With 20-24 teams I could see them divide the league into four divisions of 5-6 teams with a 12 team playoff (like the CFP). The four regular season division winners get a bye while the remaining top 8 ranked teams (based on Wins/Losses) play for a spot in the "Elite 8" against the division winners.
They're not messing around this season it seems on post players. Will be interesting to see how this impacts Hillmon, Amihere and Cubaj. Not to mention they drafted three International players last season who didn't come to the US.Bri jones to the dream
I don't think so. Some talent goes unrealized because it wasn't given the chance to grow. That's a huge leap from where they are now. I fear the talent would be spread too thin at that point.
A number of teams in the league have weak benches that contribute almost nothing. Some of these players shouldn't even be in the league, let alone have bigger roles due to expansion. Obviously there are cases of a player blossoming once they were given a chance, but that doesn't mean it will happen with every player given extended playing time.I don't think so. Some talent goes unrealized because it wasn't given the chance to grow.
I also think that this next generation of women is going to raise the bar. More girls are going to flock to the sport as it gets more popular and this just raise the talent pool by playing the percentages. We're starting to see it now in the college ranks and in a few years this large group of talented freshmen and sophomores will be looking for a home in the W.
Yea, but more draft opportunities for kids leaving college. Some of the least mentioned sometimes turn out to really shine in the pros. Also there'd be a big influx of foreign players. That's a huge leap from where they are now. I fear the talent would be spread too thin at that point.
I hope Carrington isn't going anywhere. The CT Sun have just blown up their team!
Most teams are going to have a million $, first-class training facility or players will move on!
See AT, Brianna, etc.
The Mohegan Sun seemed first class and now they're penny pinching!
Does Hank Steinbrenner have a share of Sun stock?
Same here, but who are the Sun going to surround her with? Two players who helped make that team successful are now gone. Not to mention, Bonner is a free agent.I hope Carrington isn't going anywhere.
Yes, somethin' ain't right with the Sun organization! The CT Sun have just blown up their team!

I mentioned earlier that no one wants to play for the Connecticut Sun because of rules; conditions and amenities. When DiJonai wants drafted out of Baylor with the 29th pick I said to myself why would they select a trouble maker type of Baylor. Since then she has turned out to be one of my favorite players to watch.I hope Carrington isn't going anywhere.
I’m struggling to understand your reference to, “rules, conditions and amenities,” other than the problems associated with the lack of a quality practice facility, a problem shared by a number of teams in the W, and one that the Sun’s ownership has committed to resolve at some point in the future. I get it. Who knows when that will happen.I mentioned earlier that no one wants to play for the Connecticut Sun because of rules; conditions and amenities. She is fun to watch on the court. A true pest, which earned her a spot on the WNBA All-Defensive Team last season. With Alyssa Thomas and Brionna Jones now gone the Sun need Carrington to stay. Sadly, DeWanna Bonner will more than likely hit the road as well. I remember when she was drafted out of Auburn. I said to myself who is this scrawny player. She is a women that has become one of the best players in league history.
This doesn’t leave much in the Connecticut cupboatd. Marina Mabry is the teams best player. Other than D.C. she is surrounded by a bunch of roll players. But Mabry can score at will and she will need to do that.
I would love to see the management bring back Tina Charles at least for one year. Even try to get Kia Nurse. This is a rebuild year for them. We need players. But, the Connecticut Sun has nothing to offer anyone other than the league average for salary. And, a Front of the Line pass to the casinos buffet table.
