WNBA June 2019 Musings, scores, pictures, etc

Not watching the game.... looking at the stats... but man.... Atlanta has a lot of chuckers. EW with just 5 shot attempts today... while the starting backcourt is 6-29

The Dream are unwatchable. I feel really bad for the fans. Liberty should only get 1/2 a win for beating the Dream.

AS I mentioned, Tina was a stud and Durr is so under control, she is a joy to watch. Surprisingly, Kia fell in love with the jump shot too much and just could not make it, Normally, she will attack the basket but not today.

All seven of them

Well 10-24 is definitely an improvement.

welp.... #24 for Dallas played well today....... and the Lynx lose to a bottom feeder

Great game for Arike. Followed up the dreadful showing with 19 points, 4 assists and 0 TOs on 7-12 shooting. Not sure Dallas is a bottom feeder either....looks like there isn't a ton of separation between 2nd-9th place. All teams are 4-6, 5-5, or 6-4 in their last 10 besides #2 Connecticut who is 7-3 but has lost 3 straight.

The rookie class is looking very good so far. Ogunbowale, Collier, McCowan and Durr have all shown they can be very productive in the league. Each has All Star potential IMO.

Continuing w/ the consistent lack of consistency, LA blew out Chicago today. Riquana Williams led the way w/ 19 points. Wiese has picked up some DNPs lately but today had 11 points on 4-6 shooting.

And Phoenix is thumping Seattle in the early going.

Phoenix was up as much as 13, but Seattle closed to one at halftime. They briefly went ahead by 3. Merc leading by 3 to start the 4th quarter.

It looks like Natasha Howard is starting to press a bit. Last couple games w/ poor shooting% and forcing some bad shots.

.-.
KLM having a decent game with 2 strong drives to the basket. 1 a tear drop over BG.

Seattle looked dead in the water w/ a 9 point deficit, but have responded w/ a 7-0 run. 65-63 w/ 1:40 left.

Jeez, Canada got hip checked out of bounds by Griner on a drive, no call. How do the refs miss that?

Well...now Seattle got a gift of a foul call on a 3 as time was expiring. Need all 3 FTs to tie the game and send it to OT.

Oops, 1.2 seconds left. Missed the first FT, doh. Hit the second, intentional miss on the third, Phoenix rebounds...and the clock never starts. What the heck?

Okay, sanity has been restored, game is over. 69-67 Merc. Too much Griner, 20 points on 10-14 shooting. Bonner had 20 as well but 6-18 shooting.

Seattle is offensively challenged. Their D keeps them in games but they've been playing some ugly grinders. 3 ball isn't falling lately.

.-.
Kia Nurse is better then any of the Seattle guards not named Bird.

Well Seattle is down 2 injured starting guards from last year. Really going out on a limb there.

Kia had 24 pts today. It looks like she’s getting comfortable at this level. I like what I’m seeing from her.
