I might get flack for this but I just find Alyssa Thomas to be one of the most unlikable players in the league. Horrible body language, constantly barking at her teammates and she's the last one to run over to help one up off the floor. Not to mention a lot of extra and unnecessary physical play that borders on being dirty. Her style of play and on court demeanor reminds me a lot of Draymond Green with both the good and bad.

Absolutely agree. Great player, not a fan in the slightest.

I'm not a fan of pretty much all of the big name players on the Mercury. Just not my cup of tea when it comes to their on-court demeanor and team dynamics.

I was listening to Coach White in her exit interview and few other interviews around the playoffs. Quite often she mentioned that this Indiana team was so refreshing because this team had the best locker room in her career, had the "we over me" attitude, and never folded or made excuses when the times got tough. While she wasn't explicitly calling out her time at Connecticut, I think we can all use some context clues and come to the assumption that AT was one of those folks in the back of her mind during these statements.

Can we though? From my perspective, personal bias may make it possible to lean in that direction, but other assumptions could be made.

Coach White was the coach of that Connecticut roster. Does she not own some of the culture issues, if they existed in the form you've described? Or could it have been others on that roster while she was there along with Thomas?

Especially after seeing Thomas last night after that injury to her shoulder. Coming back into the game and playing the way that she did tells me, she's willing to do anything for the team she plays for.

I get Thomas isn't most of the board's cup of tea and it's understandable. There are times where I cringe, but I also empathize with her demeanour because I know I've been seen the same way by others, whether I meant to or not. Not everyone will come across in a manner we like, but it doesn't take away their dedication and passion for their team.

Surprised no comments here about how Sabally was helped(or not helped) after her concussion-producing injury last night. Plenty of strong criticism flying around about lack of stretcher or even a wheelchair. Very sad watching her being helped(almost carried) off the court. And a pathetic, rambling explanation by the Phoenix coach today.
Million dollar coach pathetic .....well definitely a much different approach from other coaches earning less.

Coaching play a factor? If not should it?

I am glad Satou lost. I don’t like her departure from Dallas. She made first team all wnba at Dallas btw. Made nothing this year with Phoenix.

Players change teams ALL THE TIME. Why are you singling out Sabally?

Because Dallas bent over backwards last year to accommodate Satou and her desire to play for Germany at the Olympics. Dallas made the final four two years ago. But they essentially sacrificed last season; probably because they were hoping to sign Satou long term. That season got the coach fired and led to a rebuild.
