Yeah, it’s not a survivable situation for her at this point. I haven’t seen one fan defend her, let alone anyone associated with the league.Did you all hear that crowd boo when Kathy presented the trophy? 🤣

Surprised no comments here about how Sabally was helped(or not helped) after her concussion-producing injury last night. Plenty of strong criticism flying around about lack of stretcher or even a wheelchair. Very sad watching her being helped(almost carried) off the court. And a pathetic, rambling explanation by the Phoenix coach today.
No biases, but I think she will eventually make the Women's Hall of Fame. Just an unbiased hunch.
My only question (rhetorical) is should he have been the one to answer that question? Yes, he's the head coach but the medical team made the call. Personally, I think they should be the ones taking the heat and explain why when they're supposed to be the certified experts.Surprised no comments here about how Sabally was helped(or not helped) after her concussion-producing injury last night. In a very strange season, the Fever and the expansion team were incredible surprises and the Fever coming close against the Aces after so many injuries was an amazing accomplishment. No love for the surprising Fever who took the Aces too the limit?

Eh, I don't think it's fair to say they backed into a title when they finished the year going 25-3. Sure this team wasn't as good overall as their 2022 or 2023 versions and had a couple of very competitive series, but they were dominant to finish the season and the very deserving champion. In a very strange season, the Fever and the expansion team were incredible surprises and the Fever coming close against the Aces after so many injuries was an amazing accomplishment.
In the preseason I thought the odds given to the Fever were overly optimistic, probably because they had the league's new extremely popular star. After the injuries to Clark and others I thought they would be the weakest team in the playoffs. Just getting to the second round was a major upset, and taking it to the Aces was amazing. Probably one of the best coaching jobs ever by White.
As an Aces fan, what a strange season. An average team thru 28 games then a 16 game winning streak, followed in some ways by a struggle in the playoffs. Seattle and Indiana were much harder than anticipated. more consistent with the term ugly wins. A sweep is a sweep, but Sabally and Thomas injured pretty much killed any chance Phoenix had.
The year the Aces beat the Liberty at New York down two starters was a tremendous accomplishment. Those were two super teams, and Vegas managed the upset very shorthanded. This year it was more like backing into the title. There were no super teams, the two best teams if healthy were probably Minnesota and New York, neither of which Vegas had to play, and the teams they did play in the last two rounds were devastated by injuries.
This year Vegas was very fortunate and this championship team was a clear notch down from the first two versions. Lyod for Plum was a downgrade, and the supporting cast was significantly weaker. Regardless this next free agency period will be wild. Who was good or bad this year may not matter next season. It is almost like every team starting with a clean slate, with few returnees, and most of their cap space available for free agents.
Dare I say that A'Ja is a "generational player?"Aja has passed Stewie as the best player of this era. No real argument for Stewie atp imo.
Absolutely agree. Great player, not a fan in the slightest.I might get flack for this but I just find Alyssa Thomas to be one of the most unlikable players in the league. Horrible body language, constantly barking at her teammates and she's the last one to run over to help one up off the floor. Not to mention a lot of extra and unnecessary physical play that borders on being dirty. Her style of play and on court demeanor reminds me a lot of Draymond Green with both the good and bad.
I'm not a fan of pretty much all of the big name players on the Mercury. Just not my cup of tea when it comes to their on-court demeanor and team dynamics.Absolutely agree. Great player, not a fan in the slightest.
I’m sure I was one who fought you on that. I’ll come eat my crow.Dare I say that A'Ja is a "generational player?"
Damn I'm old to remember that.
Can we though? From my perspective, personal bias may make it possible to lean in that direction, but other assumptions could be made.I'm not a fan of pretty much all of the big name players on the Mercury. Just not my cup of tea when it comes to their on-court demeanor and team dynamics.
I was listening to Coach White in her exit interview and few other interviews around the playoffs. Quite often she mentioned that this Indiana team was so refreshing because this team had the best locker room in her career, had the "we over me" attitude, and never folded or made excuses when the times got tough. While she wasn't explicitly calling out her time at Connecticut, I think we can all use some context clues and come to the assumption that AT was one of those folks in the back of her mind during these statements.
Million dollar coach pathetic .....well definitely a much different approach from other coaches earning less.Surprised no comments here about how Sabally was helped(or not helped) after her concussion-producing injury last night. Coaching play a factor? If not should it?I'm not a fan of pretty much all of the big name players on the Mercury. Just not my cup of tea when it comes to their on-court demeanor and team dynamics.

Players change teams ALL THE TIME. Why are you singling out Sabally?I am glad Satou lost. I don’t like her departure from Dallas. She made first team all wnba at Dallas btw. Made nothing this year with Phoenix.
Because Dallas bent over backwards last year to accommodate Satou and her desire to play for Germany at the Olympics. Dallas made the final four two years ago. But they essentially sacrificed last season; probably because they were hoping to sign Satou long term. That season got the coach fired and led to a rebuild.Players change teams ALL THE TIME. A bizarre moment for sure. Lobo and Ruocco speculated that he touched the referee, but there wasn't a good angle to show what transpired clearly.![]()
Mercury coach critical of late ejection in closeout Game 4
Mercury coach Nate Tibbetts was critical of his ejection late in Game 4 of the WNBA Finals, calling it "one of the weakest double technicals ever."www.espn.com
....."the first coach in league history to be ejected in a Finals game.....it's just embarrassing," Tibbetts said."
Couldn't agree more
Okay. Satou is hardly the only international player to play in the WNBA who has also taken a break due to the Olympics or other international competition though. Or U.S. born player who competes for another country in the Olympics.Because Dallas bent over backwards last year to accommodate Satou and her desire to play for Germany at the Olympics. Maybe, but I wasn't a fan before they got to the Mercury and it didn't change when they got there.Coaching play a factor? If not should it?
I thought it was justified. Even if he didn’t touch the referee, he was T’d up already and decided to further get in her space, posture over her and yell again in her face.A bizarre moment for sure. I am not saying she is. I am just saying as a casual Dallas wings fan. I think the wings treated her great and it was not reciprocated. And I root against her now.Okay. Sorry, I'll drop it. We all have players we dislike for various reasons.I am not saying she is. I am just saying as a casual Dallas wings fan. I think the wings treated her great and it was not reciprocated. And I root against her now.
