Young w/ a new Finals record 21 point quarter. McCoughtry w/ 19 was the previous record holder. Young and Wilson have combined for 54 thru 3 quarters. Copper is having a big game but Phoenix needs more help.

These refs are terrible. Bad calls going against both teams. Embarrassing for the league, this is what they get in a Finals series?

End of the game got ugly, brick fest by both teams. Merc trimmed the final margin to 13, it was at least as much as 22 at one point.

32 for Young, 28 for Wilson. Sabally and Copper countered w/ 23 and 22, obviously not enough. Was it me or was AT completely non existent offensively in the 2nd half?

There’s really not much Young can’t do. Easily one of the most complete players in the league.
Looks like Trader Bill and Dan Padover knew what they were doing when choosing her #1 back in 2018 (wow...that long?).
Becky Hammon should be commended for her work in making Young one of the best two-way guards....anywhere.
Pencil Young, Wilson, AT and Collier in for the World Cup and USA Coach Lawson and GM Bird are already in great shape for the World Cup.

Nice to see the Tempo arrange these events during the finals. Unfortunately I was committed to being out of town or I would have signed up.

This morning I clicked on ESPN to see an article that said something like Aces try to finish off Phoenix tonight as if it was a best of 5 series. Maybe that is indicative of how seriously they take the WNBA if their reporter doesn't know it is a best of 7 series this year. It appears if you go to the gamecast part of tonight's game. Surprised nobody has caught it or removed it by now.

While not the intent of their statement, if Phoenix loses on Wednesday, I find it highly unlikely that they will go on a four game winning streak.

" The Aces’ win yesterday was their fifth straight over the Mercury since dropping the first meeting of the season back in June, including a 4-0 mark since the All-Star break and a 5-0 mark with A’ja Wilson on the floor — she missed the first meeting while out of the lineup with a concussion. The Mercury need to tighten their defense up significantly if they’re going to get back in this series, as Las Vegas has pretty much had its way with Phoenix at the end where it usually does its best work."

Ouch. That's a heartbreaker for Phoenix, coming so close to a big come back but falling short. Do they have any left for Game 4 or is it time to get out the brooms?

Loyd has had a least a few solid games in the playoffs. Bonner came up huge w/ 25 off the bench for the Merc.

If (when) the Aces win this series, Wilson catapults herself into the very upper echelon of all time WNBA players...and she still has quite a few good years ahead of her.

You really just can't quit tempting the woofing gods, can you? 🤣
If the Merc come back from down 0-3 in this series, that would have to be one of the biggest come backs in pro sports playoff history.

Aces... I dont like that Bonner and Thomas left Connecticut, also I dont mind Stokes getting another ring!

So did Coach White and I believe that happened before their decision to join other teams. Connecticut was also trading key team mates like Carrington. Not sure how they're expected to stay when the Sun went into rebuild mode.

This GIF is an accurate representation of how I felt watching this and the ALDS game at the same time. Both games were INTENSE. What a night for sports!

The last five minutes were intense but the build up was a snooze fest. For a while it was looking like the Aces were going to blowout the Mercury and I honestly was having trouble staying awake.

She was already there before Game 1.
Does anybody know the average peak years of a GOAT candidate? And , by the way, Brianna should have a number of good years remaining. ( she’s still my GOAT college player.)

This thought had me wondering if an AI could spit out the average age of the MVP winner and it gave me some generic answer like 25-29. With that said, it referenced this thread from r/WNBA that I thought was enlightening. Generally speaking and not exclusive to GOATs, it seems that peak performance happens around the age 28-29 in the W.
