Yikes. The Chicago Sky drama continues on. Now it's a lawsuit between owners.
Really sad stuff. She was one of my favorites to watch back in the day with the Shock. A big personality and not afraid to mix it up in the paint.Didn't want to start a new thread so throwing this in here. Just read that Kara Braxton has died. Way too young.
Well, this is great to read. So maybe some of those "WNBA is losing money" chatter heads can take a break? Fully aware this doesn't mean there weren't losses but this continues to prove things have been moving in a positive direction to me.![]()
Union: WNBA made enough money for revenue sharing
The WNBA players union says that the league generated enough revenue to trigger revenue sharing.www.espn.com
For the first time in history, the WNBA generated enough revenue in 2025 to trigger revenue sharing with its players, union leadership told ESPN on Sunday. Union leaders said the league notified player leadership earlier this month that they hit the benchmark. The 13 teams will receive a total of $8 million from the league to disperse among players, the union said.
Didn’t the league say everything needed to be in place by March 10 in order not to affect the season? I thought that was a bit ambitious, and it’s slipping. Now my only worry is if an agreement is reached, that the WNBA and Owners do a rush job on the season and create a bigger mess. I hate to go all negative but I just don't see how an entire offseason of moves, free agency signings, expansion draft, WNBA draft, and throw in training camp, can happen in a two-month span.
Yep and it was very ambitious move, I agree. We shall see what develops.Didn’t the league say everything needed to be in place by March 10 in order not to affect the season? I thought that was a bit ambitious, and it’s slipping.
Nobody’s coming out of this smelling like roses (or even a decent chai).
This is exciting to see. Hopefully everything gets approved by the necessary parties in an efficient manner.WNBA, WNBPA Reach Tentative Verbal Agreement for New CBA

“A timeline previously shared with general managers had the expansion draft being held between April 1 and 6. Qualifying offers, including core designations, could be sent out on April 7 and 8, followed by a negotiating period from April 9-11. The signing period would begin on April 12 and extend through the 18th.”
“”This deal is going to be transformational,” Stewart said. “You’ll see the details hopefully soon, but it’s going to build and help create a system where everybody is getting exactly what they deserve and more. From on the court and off the court aspects. I’m just excited that we can tell our fans that we’re going to be back.””
😂 😂
One item not listed here, which I was surprised and impressed with is a trade associated with a pregnant player requires their approval. Did not think that would be a topic as part of the negotiations.Signed Term Sheet:

- NBA-style revenue share. (@20% [1]).
I still don’t know how the expansion draft will work with the slim pickings and coring arbitrage. [here]
- Changes to coring starting in 2027, when coring only applies to those with 6 or less years of service. [1]
- Changes to housing starting in 2029 and 2030 (only players earning <= 500k), and in 2031+ (only developmental players) [1].
- Enhanced team staffing. [1]
- Five minimum salary tiers (vs two in old CBA). Veteran minimum designed to minimize being priced out by GMs in old CBA (the tweener problem). [1]
- Enhanced benefits. [1]
- But the ability to negotiate with 100+ UFAs is huge (holiday shopping for teams like Dallas (a newish GM dream environment) and expansion teams).
