Going to wait till after Brown game to update. Losing these New England games puts us in a tough spot. these are games we can not afford to lose.

Something with this team is not clicking. Losing 3 games to New England teams and not really having an easy time in the 2 wins they got over New England foes (last 5 NE games). If we can right the ship and sweep the next 4 games ( Vill - 3, fairfield - 1 ) maybe we can get the season turned around. At this pace it looks like we would need to win BE tourney to get an NCAA bid.

Got the victory but it was not pretty. Moore having tough time with control, hope he comes back to early season form. still not hitting great. Need to sweep this series against a below average Villanova team.

Nice to get another win and pitching performance. Winning today and vs Fairfield would be a great way to go into the USF series. USF currently tied for first with Louisville. We would be in worse case tied for 3rd with a win today. Even though it feels like a the season is not going all well as expected, we are not far away from being at a pace of winning 40 games ( my very unofficial goal ). Lets win 2 more and get to New Britain next week on a little run. Looking forward to going to NB and doing some baseball tailgating before game.

Got the sweep vs Villanova which was huge. Must take care of business vs Farifield on Tuesday. Can not get beat to another NE team this year. We are tied for 3rd and play USF ( tied for first ) this weekend at home, in a big series. Like I stated above , really looking forward to the Friday night game in New Britain.

Started listening to game when Fairfield scored 4 in the 3rd to go up 5 - 1. Glad we were able to come back and get the win. Losing to another NE team would have been devastating to our NCAA at large bid hopes. Was looking to go 9-3 over the last 12 games, but 8 - 4 does not kill us. Agree with Husky medic that our RPI will improve with our upcoming games. This is a big series this weekend, hoping for at least 2 of 3. Looking forward to Friday evening in New Britain, lets extend our 5 game winning streak.

Looking to go 5 - 1 over the next 6 games. Have 3 home games vs BE first place team USF (tied with Louisville ). Then a home game vs UMass and an away game vs Bryant. These games ( except for UMass) will help our RPI. I will track the next 5 games on chart below.

Ucjoet, thanks for doing this. Helps those of us who can't follow the team closely.

No problem HuskyHawk. I actually enjoy doing it and I hope people enjoy it also. I have always tried to follow UConn baseball since my days at Uconn ( graduated '82). With gametracker and WHUS online it is much easier now than it was in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's. Also a good friend on mine has a son on the team ( a senior), so I have been following then even closer than before. We will be tailgating at New Britain this Friday ( not with alumni association ), . If anyone is there early come by and say hello.

Some thoughts from Chris Jones who does the broadcast for WHUS:

JonesCcj 11:18am via Web
According to Boyds World UConn needs a .700 win pct from here on out to be in top 45 of RPI which would give them good shot at atlarge bid

JonesCcj 11:19am via Web
That would be a 14-6 record from this point forward. This does fluctuate so percentages will change after each game depending on results

JonesCcj 11:23am via Web
Plus the committee looks at for RPI on NCAA website. UConn was 75 at start of week. Warren Nolan is inaccurate and Boyds World is little off

Very disappointing weekend losing 3 close games to USF. We need to go on a major win streak to get back on track. There just seems to be something missing with this team. Mostly seems like we can't get the timely hits we need. Also unable to follow games that closely this weekend, but there must be something up with Ryan Moore. He went from being the closer to not pitching at all. I know he was a little wild in his last couple of outings. Wonder if he may be hurt or they have lost confidence in him. He could be a big help to this team if he pitched like he did at beginning of season.

Huskies have the exact same record 23-16 as they did last season at this point. Team ended up going 6-9-1 to close the regular season.

Just stating the obvious - but they need to do much better than 6-9-1 down stretch. Hope it all comes together before tourney!

We do have 17 games left. For us to get to my original goal of 38 wins before the BE tourney we would need to go 15 - 2. Obviously nothing is impossible, but that would be a major turn around from the way we have been playing. We have 8 non BE games, 5 vs NE teams and 3 vs George Mason that has an RPI of 245. We need to go 8 - 0 vs these teams. That leaves us with having to go 7 - 2 in last 9 BE games. Not an easy task for either, but that is what I am rooting for. If not we need to get hot and win BE tourney.

Lucky to win today vs a poor UMass team. Still hoping we go on a major win streak or else we are going to have to win BE tourney for a bid.

Much needed win yesterday. Big series with Notre Dame, that has an RPI in the 30's. Need a minimum 2 of 3 this weekend.
