I live just north of Atlanta and looking forward to heading over to SC this Saturday to catch the game. It's a few hour drive and always like to try and catch the Huskies in any sport when they are fairly close.

Crazy weekend so not going to be able to follow games. Obviously errors hurt us big time today. need to win 2 of next 3 at minimum to make this a decent trip.

Overall we are 10 - 5 (.667). Splitting the next 2 games would be acceptable , but would love to get 2. Not going to be able to follow today's game either, but will try to update graph later tonight.

Wanted to add to add line for overall record. Seems we are meeting or exceeding my non -scientific goals for the year in every category. Also next two games are important because they are away games against highly ( 33 & 41 ) ranked teams as far as current RPI.goes. The average RPI of teams for the next 10 games is 182.

This team is hard to figure out. Went to the game on Saturday in Greenville and the team looked great. The hitting was unbelievable from the entire lineup and the fielding was tremendous as well. I was very impressed. But then you listen to the games on Friday and Sunday and the team can leave you shaking your head. On Sunday, no offense yet they were able to ride a 3-1 lead into the top of the 7th, have a man on third with no outs and your 2,3,4 hitters coming up and we can't get him in. Should be 4-1. They get 4 on us in the bottom of the 7th, one coming from an error after the 3 run home run. Should be a 4-4 game at this point, instead it is 5-3 them. Then in the 8th first two guys get on and we can't sacrifice them over instead they get the force at third. Next guy get a single and loads them up, should have had atleast 1 run there if the sac is successful. Then another single, one run scores but they get the runner from second at the plate. Why send him unless you are absolutely sure he will score. 2 outs now. Next guy singles to load bases again. If we held the runner we would have had another run. Basically what I am saying is just too many missed opportunities and very frustrating when this team should be winning these games.

If we can get a win in Charleston the trip would not be a disaster. Unfortunately we probably should have won at least one of the two games we lost.

Nice win today vs COC 9 - 4. Tabakman 4 scoreless innings and Ryan Moore closes out game facing 3 batters , 1 K on 12 pitches. Melley, Verdi and LJ with 2 hits. Sienna had 4 hits. He is doing an incredible job for a freshman. So the BE season starts vs GTown. Always looking for a sweep , but need at least 2. Gtown has a 13 - 6 record but has played a very weak schedule. Have not played anyone with a top 50 RPI. there RPI is 209.

Made an error in posting current RPI. It is up to #20 not 23.

Looks like Georgetown series is moved away from Dodd Field in Norwich to Georgetown. We are supposedly going to be considered the home team, but would these games count as away games. I believe it does make a difference with the calculations of the RPI. Anyone know ?

Home, Away and Neutral are all counted differently I believe. I was actually coming on here to ask the same question about it counting as an away game for RPI purposes. It would definitely be beneficial.

I believe, but don't hold it against me if I'm wrong, that it would still be considered a home game. I would say for situations like this to look at the official UConn website for the schedule and use that to base the rpi off of. The best example I can relate it to was a few seasons ago when an MLB team ended up playing home games in a different city due to snow

I asked Chris Jones who does the UConn BB broadcasts for WHUS about RPI - this is his thoughts. In another tweet - he thought there was no way it would count as " home" game from an RPI standpoint since it's @ Hoya's field.

I'm not sure at this point. My guess is that is will counted as neutral site game. I'm still trying to figure out details.

the game is being played at gtowns home field so I don't know how ncaa could rule it as home games for UConn.

He will find out for sure...

Great work trying to find out details. Since Georgetown RPI is pretty low it would be beneficial that they be considered away games.

Georgetown is off to a good start record wise at 14 - 6. Looking a little closer they have not played a top 50 RPI team, and only 1 team in the top 100. The average RPI of the teams which Georgetown has beaten is # 204 ( very low). So anything less than 2 wins would be incredibly disappointing. I am hoping for a sweep and hopefully the games are considered away games. Seems unfair if they were not considered away games. A sweep may get us ranked, and if not we should be just outside the top 25.

Looking over some of the current rankings, it looks like a long shot to be ranked even with a sweep of GTown. Definitely should receive some votes.

We had the votes - we needed two out of three against Pres and CoC and we'd be there. Woulda, coulda, shoulda...

Down 2-0 top 4th. Georgetown has man on 3rd 2 outs. No hitting so far and an error here in the 4th has cost them a run.

3 unearned runs. Taylor made double play in the inning and Verdi made bad throw to Mazzilli. Don't have a good feeling about this one and it's a shame because this is a team they should beat, but with this team it always seems to be inconsistant. Look great one game and not so the next.

4-0 after 5. Have left 2 men on base in 4 of the first 5 innings. Mazzilli seems to be struggling having struke out twice already in game.

Split first 2 games, a win tomorrow would be big. Cross and Moore did a good job pitching today.
