I do not believe winning margin matters

Yes, winning margin in a game does not matter in the RPI calculation. Wins and losses are what matters. Just took a quick look, currently UConn's RPI is still at 36. We'll see if it goes up or down as the night progresses as other game results come in.

If that draw were ever true, the unexpected trip to the Super Reg. would be a realistic possibility.

When you play a team like UMASS does it help the RPI to kill them like we are? Or does it not matter much?
Now I know when you’re back in 241 for the next blow out, we can discuss statistics!

In hoops, football or baseball, RPI does not take into account margin of victory. It is only based on your winning percentage, the winning percentage of who you played and the winning percentage of who they playee. While, to me, this type of metric (performance rather than predictive) should be the dominant factor in selecting at large teams, even though if you’re betting on a game in the future margins of victory is not just relevant but important.

Find a way out of the 3 seed and/or the convenient 2 seed. I’m always hoping for a Big10 ACC regional draw. I think the Big12 has been a tough matchup for years. I’d be more confident with even a mid tier SEC regional.

Three down and two to go. Never easy winning 5 straight in baseball, no matter the competition. But so far, so good.

Big night for my sports teams. UConn baseball wins. Hoop team picks up Liam McNeeley, which is a much coveted recruit. And lastly my Packers get 2 Linebackers and a safety. Both positions needed upgrade.

Go Huskies!!!

Certainly agree with you on this. I've posted this before, but it is not unusual in baseball unlike other sports for the poorer team to pick up a win in a series. Sweeps in baseball are tough to accomplish no matter how much better your team is than the team you are playing.

With Ian Cooke not able to be a starting pitcher this weekend due to illness, it will make sweeping Villanova more difficult. It will be interesting who gets the start in place of Cooke this weekend. One good thing about Stephen Quigley's performance yesterday was that it saved the big bullpen arms for later in this series.

After posting this, I listened to the post game interview that Chris Jones did with Coach Penders. Sounds like it just might be possible that Ian Cooke may be able to start a game this weekend, guess it depends on how quickly he recovers from his illness.

Had my son’s stag this afternoon, so was not able to follow at all. Great day for a stag and a baseball game. Getting the job done so far this week, need 1 more victory to get to a 5-0 week.

I’m amazed that Auburn is only 6 spots behind Uconn in Warren Nolan RPI while having a 2-18 record now w/in conf play. It shows the value of that conference. Auburn probably won’t get in the tournament as of now, but again, being in distance with that record is amazing imo

Would have been a terrible loss, but we pulled it out. Did what we set out to do this week, going 5-0. No matter the competition, sweeping a series is not easy. We have won 15 of last 17. On a roll.

GoHuskies!!!
