If Geno can get these two girls they would be favorite to repeat next year ! Heckel is a very good and tough player. She would compliment what we have already just like caitlin did. I remember her from the McDonald's game last year and she was one of the best players their.

Heckel visited Vandy, ND and Michigan St last week/weekend. Uconn wasn't on the original list.

Serah I can understand, with a one year effort benefitting both her and UConn. Kayleigh not so sure since she would be a three year deal, but she was with KK and Kelis at Dawg camp, so there may be some chemistry there. But my one question remains: of the three, is anyone of them a true PG (1) as we would need to run the offense and let Azzi be a pure shooting guard (2)?

This is a great news! Hopefully we can get both to commit. They cover the perceived deficiencies we have on the current team. And both are great defenders.

Kelis was not at dawg camp.

I just think we are going from 5 reliable ball handlers to 3 on paper heading into camp. And it would be a good idea to add another ball handler.

I’m wondering if maybe they’re worried on missing out on guard recruits out of high school over the next couple of cycles so looking to have backup from the portal

Heckel and Williams are both great additions.

Heckel:

Another ball handler (lost Paige and Chen)
Can shoot and distribute
Decent defense-potential to grow
She will likely have more of a role in our system than in Gottlieb's. Maximize her potential.

Williams:

Post defense-can likely be a much needed rim protector while Gandy is in development
Is one of the only center/forward players to have really good games against Betts
Can shoot (I think)?
Fits in at a nice 6'4 size next to Sarah/Jana

Yes, last season Geno had two Pg's on the floor (sometimes three) for the majority of minutes and the previous season three (Paige,Nika,KK). The only downside, KK, Kelis and Heckel are all in the 5'9" range.
