If UConn is off, do you think MI will try to push it up court, like they did against ND?
I know we’re spoiled in the BY, but a 40 point loss is serious. What do you think Ivey can do to turn the tide.
HH is clearly a freakish athlete but a lot of what she does isn’t even basketball. Those drives into nowhere are ugly.
What do you think UConn will do against her? (May not really matter)
I say, keep the pressure on out front, try to keep the ball out of her hands and if she beats the top wave, be ready for the next wave to help on her, hopefully without fouling. She can throw the shot off the top of the backboard. (Happened on Sat)
Here’s the thing. UConn’s calling card is their defense. It will be the best defense MI will face all season. So I am not really concerned about MI getting a bunch of easy transition baskets.

There’s a lot of questions about Ivey on McGraw’s Bench. Her recruiting has been a question for several years. Now the question is whether or not she’s up to the task of coaching her team at a high level.

As for HH, I actually feel a bit bad for her. Her teammates hardly moved. MI doubled her whenever she had the ball, so she ended up forcing shots or turning it over throughout the game. However UConn decides to defend her, ND just doesn’t have enough firepower to compete with UConn this season.

I’ve usually found Massey’s computer-generated, algorithm-driven projections to be reasonably accurate but it was way off for OSU, predicting a 12 point win. Let’s see how the Michigan prediction plays out

Oof - Xavier. A Massey rank of 215

I feel UConn is capable of going undefeated yes they are that good and their defense will carry them. The question is is any team capable of playing good enough against their defense to score more points then UConn. I dont think so. UConn this season is a well oiled machine and operates and executes like no team Ive seen in quite a while.

Not sure how you can conclude they look mediocre when they won 93-54 and held Hidalgo to the worst game of her career.
They looked mediocre to ME. Hidalgo had little chance with getting little offensive help from her teammates and that made it easier to hold her down. That is the worse I have ever seen ND play in 20 years.

Condensed game

Thanks for that video. Watched it. Michigan looked quite good on both offense and defense. Great multi-pressure on Hidalgo all game.

Not one of the better Irish teams and no depth, but the starting five players aren't chopped liver. Hidalgo's out-of-control ball control doesn't help build a Swiss watch offense.
