Don’t really care about tennis. Loved when McEnroe and Conners were yelling at lines people though.

Knees to shoulder? If you give that zone to the robots its over. The pitchers will own the game because now the strike zone with some hardly elevate above the belt area. That's what's fun about the game, find out what you have to swing at during the game according to the patterns of the umpire back there. Hell I did that in HS, college and twilight leagues getting to know these guys day in day out. These guys know the tenedencies of the blue, swing the bat. Would kill the game with technology heading that far. Keep the umps back there.
Ok then make it belt to knees. Or gut to knees. Range doesn’t matter. Consistency does

People go to the ball parks to see players like Ohtani hit dingers. He got to deal with this. Pretty sure a robo ump can do better.

Well respect might be earned, but there were a ton of calls that went against him this year. A guy even wrote an entire article on this recently. Despite all of this, he is still having a historical season. He could do much better though since teams are now literally are just walking him or pitching around him. He is getting nothing to hit.

We need better umps or we need robo umps.

Man quit whining he gets the same respect others get. He's having a terrific season even though .270 isn't great the rest is amazing. But to whine about umps hating him, geez people are whacked! Robots would absolutely ruin the game in so many ways. Let Americas game keep going it's fine. Sorry the Angels blow!

They are getting their pitchers back, Cole last night, Montgomery today. That will make a huge difference.

Looking good for the Yanks right now, but lots of season left. Despite Britton being out and Chapman imploding, there is more pitching coming back online. That said, no team can keep this up in baseball.

Were some of those balls outside, yes. But when the camera angles are offset like that, it's going to look like that sometimes (let's see all these pitches from directly overhead). The yankees had a few horrendous calls against them yesterday, Boone came out and got tossed and it fired up the team. The zone tightened up and then they mashed 3 homers over the next 2 innings. Baseball is an art, not a science. If you want to see robo umps go watch e-sports.

And if they somehow do, how far can they go with inconsistent hitting and bad relief pitching?

They only have bad relief pitching because they have mostly worse starting pitching. Tough to take a commanding lead in the wild card by winning 13 straight, most in 60 years, and then cough it all back up in a couple of putrid weeks

Daily News article has pretty good analysis IMO of the Yankees debacle. I especially liked his reference on whether Boone was responsible for the moves after the winning streak or "the analytics department". When the latter are running the decisions they are a pretty easy team to beat because they are so one dimensional. Many commentators and writers have brought this up; the lack of situational hitting and lack of aggression in hitters. They look so helpless at the plate when they should be terrorizing the opposition. Are they thinking about launch angles up there?

Severino looked really good today. And that was an absolute bomb! Weird team tough games coming up let’s see how they finish.

The movement on his pitches was amazing.

He had great stuff it was obvious to all but Boone. Don't care if they brought up a lefty to hit Holmes with electric stuff last night was better than any of our lefties in the pen and it wasn't even Peralta. As kibble said head scratcher no doubt. Almost as big as pitching to Stanton with first open LOL
