This is partially for "fun" but also to learn from senior Boneyarders with
a knowledge/ history of knowing GENO's short term Tactics and long-term strategies.
1. No Change: Geno follow his normal pattern (please elaborate).
2. Over emphasis 3-point shooting % of total shots, i.e. to see who
demonstrates "consistency" in support of Paige. (See GENO's
Post Game pressor from N.D.)
3. Overvalue the inside game: provide extra "reps" for Jana and ICE to
develop this, provide "muscle memory " to our BIGS regarding scoring
and rebounding.
4. Geno asks Paige to defer "playing through contact". Again, see Geno's
post-game pressor when he stated that "Paige may be her own worse
enemy"(or something to that effect).
5. Play AZZI?? I know Geno stated early in the week that AZZI would not
play " for a week"?? and then it will be "day to day". But the Louisville game
WAS on Saturday night... so.... Is there any benefit to Azzi NOT STARTING,
or coming off the bench (early or late). Does Geno need/want to see which
squads may work best with Paige, Sarah, and Azzi... at least for the USC game?
6. For those BONEYARDERS " in the know" what do you know of GENO'S history
of using a "sandwich" game like Georgetown? Between a BIG game like N.D.
especially as a loss with some "issues" and two coming games against ranked
opponents.
7. My fantasy is that: a. Azzi plays (some), b. Paige and Sarah work on
their playing off each other like in the second half in South Bend. c.
Geno's gently pressures SARAH to work on " playing with an All American
mindset", and d. GENO GIVES some extra "reps" to ICE, JANA, and encourages a
full game offense focused ASHLYNN SHADE.
8. Again, back to the N.D. post-game pressor: will we see any of SARAH at the
5 position with a four-guard complement??
9. Other ideas??

I have been a fan of Geno for 30+ years and I don't see him changing his approach based on the result of one game unless he sees the road he is going down isn't getting him where he wants to be. I could see him swapping Jana and Ice or something along those lines but big changes I would say no.

This is a Big East game with Georgetown and although most of the teams in the Big East have improved their rosters, They still haven't come up to Uconn's level. I am predicting another undefeated season for Uconn in the Big East. Some things don't change and this is one of them. I believe that when the Big East title is won by, Uconn, whatever had to be corrected to play in the Big Dance will have been taken care of. GENO will have the team ready. GO FRESHMEN!!!! GO SOPHOMORES!!!!! G

I think he knows what he has in Ice, KK and Chen, the latter two being replacements for each other, not on the court together. He has to devise a plan to accelerate Jana's development - she has the will, drive and determination, and hopefully the skill to be THAT post player by March. He know what he has in Azzi, just has to manage her minutes appropriately to the demands of the season. The most difficult and immediate task is to find out whether Ash has IT or not and he may have already decided that. The importance here is the need for her to relieve Azzi and bring the game we think she has everytime. I think Morgan will get more time in more roles, leaving Q and Allie for next year.

Based on Geno's post game comments after ND, I do think that we will see a "Sarah and 4 guards" lineup as soon as Sunday. That lineup was used for a few minutes against both Louisville and ND, and it worked reasonably well (at least as well as the conventional lineup). And it will certainly get Ice's and Jana's attention if he uses it for more minutes than he has.

I doubt that he will use it for a majority of any game, but if UConn is doing OK on the boards but needs an offensive jumpstart, he may use it as a "microwave" for the offense. It will work better if Paige and the other guards (Ashlynn and KK in particular) get more than their share of rebounds.

I don't see Coach doing anything differently in the Georgetown matchup. No point in overreacting to one game. ND just had a hot shooting night and executed well out there and we did not. It happens. You just regroup, watch the tape, and learn from the game film and from the coaching staff and get back out there to compete.

Geno hopefully will be able to have a player or two to slow down Ransom. She reminds me of someone...or two.
Yes, Kelsey is a fun player to watch, and in her fifth season is better than ever. She's always been a strong defender (last year's BE co-DPOY) and this year has learned to shoot better... averaging 21.1. G'town has little else offensively to threaten the Huskies, so I'd expect Geno will have double duty on her whenever possible.

Most important is UCONN's Big 3. As Geno mentioned in his presser, Azzi was needed. The Big 3 need to play a lot of time together. This time off Azi has is stunting the growth for this team. Not blaming her ofc. Her health has to be #1 concern but this team is not a December team. Far from it. But Azi needs to play and work with her fellow teammates as quickly as possible and play many minutes. Not just 20.
