I have been a loyal Uconn Fan for over 40 years. I spend hundreds of dollars on Uconn Apparel yearly. I subscribe to HULU live because it covered all my bases. All of ESPN including ESPN Plus. All the Fox Sports Channels including FS1 and FS 2. I also us the Foxsportsgo.com app to watch games as well for the womans games that are on SNY. I live in Tennessee now. I also have CBS SPorts Network for the other games mainly football. I did not need an expensive plan if I was not a Uconn Fan. My point is that this Peacock Baloney is not fair to the loyal fans. How much more do I need to spend. Very disappointing. Mr Benedict, it appears you sold us out.

Not a dime or very little as multiple people pointed out in the other thread on Peacock this week (and one about a month ago).

I'm just surprised that you signed up for the Boneyard just to complain about that and blamed Benedict when it wasn't his doing.
Everything should be free! We should all work for free.

I already have peacock to watch the office, parks and rec, Brooklyn 99, etc so I didn’t care about the cost.

What does piss me off is I can’t watch the game on a delay while it is simultaneously being played. It’s either watch 100% live or wait until the game ends. I have two young boys, sometimes I need to pause the game for 15 minutes then come back and keep watching. The fact that I can’t do that with peacock really really annoys me.

Agreed. I'm so tired of needing 5 or 6 different streaming services just to watch all the sports I follow. I also don't like having to sign up for free just to watch something and then cancel. Just a hassle. Sports will definitely lose followers long term, but the sport organizations don't see that, they only see the short-term financial benefits of cutting deals with every provider possible.
I think young people are more used to doing this and they don't think it's a hassle. So it's only us older people who probably feel like you do and we'll probably be gone before this financially affects sports. We're outside their favored demographics any way.

I also live in TN and have Direct TV which has SNY so I can watch the womans games. Direct is way more expensive than other options.

Then this Peacock thing really angered me. I later found out Peacock also has similar deal with other conferences for just a couple games to force hard core fans to subscribe. This is just what they do to milk the public of everything they can. It seems like collusion between these streaming services to help each other. Sadly, I believe it will only get worse

I’ve had the Peacock Channel for 3 years now, got it way back when to watch all of Yellowstone, it also carries tons of vintage TV series going back to the 1950’s. Also any sports covered by NBC. Not sure why but it seems that many of Butler’s home games are on Peacock.

Every sport continues to suck as much money from fans as possible. Personally, I refrain and followed the game via chat, but to each his own
Me too, I pay over 350 a month as it is and have Peacock but not premium. F them “not a dime!”

There have been multiple 20$/year opportunities for peacock if you’ve been paying attention. This is the norm now and it’s not going away. A year’s subscription costs as much as a meal from Five Guys.

Is there a replay on Peacock? Thinking about signing up and want to watch the Butler game.
Yes they have full game replays. I could not watch live. If you subscribe scroll to the Big East tab click on it and then scroll down. You will see the icon for the game replay there is also a highlights icon. At first I was bummed when I knew I would not be able to watch game live. But when I got home at 10pm I was able to find the replay. You can DM me if you have any questions.

I enjoyed listening to the game on the radio (on my phone) for free.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S24. If you have an android, what app do you use to listen to the game?

I googled the subject, but saw an array of options so I am not sure what is best. I saw something about needing USB buds, but hopefully, that is not necessary.

if you’re a golfer you can get peacock free with an annual GolfNow subscription (which is a 100% worth it and pays for itself if you get out a 4 times plus).

My biggest gripe with the peacock viewings is when they put prime time games that would have been available to everyone on a paid wall service. That’s some BS.

It's perfectly reasonable to be upset about it. The whole thing with every entity wanting its own separate subscription is incredibly stupid and has to burst at some point.
Is it? The paradigm has shifted. It's not going back to the way it was. And UConn has been less affected by the shift to streaming than most. Maybe all? What non-elite football team has all of their home games on cable? Other teams have had many streaming games for years. We have a handful for one year and the whiners are out in full force. I get all the streamers and I pay less now overall then when I paid for cable with the sports tier. Sure I have actually look up where the game is instead of having the cable guide find it for me, but I can handle it. This is nothing but old guys yelling at cloud stuff.

You sound like the UConn women’s basketball fans lamenting the loss of CPTV

I wonder how much of this is memory of the OTA ad supported model being “free”. When you do the math, Peacock, with no special deal is $8 a month. So the cost of a single beer (less than one beer at a UConn game). Plus it has some other good content including quite a few movies.

My only concern is that sports bars won’t have it. I can imagine people going out and finding out they can’t watch the games.

My only streaming “outrage” that I simply won’t pay for is NESN 360 at $30 a month. No content except sports and $30. Forget that. At $10 I’d sign up right away.

Do you now have all kinds of computer viruses with pop up ads for sites? :)

My son tells me he and his friends watch everything on illegal streams without getting computer viruses. He says you need to know what you're doing. I don't even bother asking. My wife has every streaming app under the sun so we have Peacock.

Just don't click the ads

Depends on what device you use to stream. I watched the first half through my LG smartTV and couldn’t pause/ffwd/rew. Did some research during halftime and read how some people had those functions through Apple TV. Tried on my fire stick and it worked!

What streaming services do you have to get FS1, FS2 and CBS sports network? Do they have replay options? How long do they hold past games?

Old guy here always looking for better clouds.
