Why is ESPNU showing the first round matchups?

I think this is it

Congrats to all. I still don't get some of the top seeds (1's and 2's), but that happens every year.

Bracket going to be announced at 5 PM on ESPN2 according to a NCAA WBB Tweet

BREAKING: The NCAA DI Women's Basketball bracket will be officially revealed at 5 PM ET on ESPN2. #ncaaW

4:33 PM - 18 Mar 2019
Just thinking now about all those selection show watch parties. What happens with those now?

So...Miss St. jumped UConn since the last seeding reveal? How? Both teams won all their games.

Does the NCAA think that Lou may not be healthy for the tournament?
This is my one complaint about their "reveals." A lack of consistency from one to the next.

If they had put MSU ahead of UConn on Mar. 4, I wouldn't have been at all surprised, and in fact I kinda expected it. But if UConn's resume as of that date was deemed better than MSU's as of the same date, I find it very hard to believe that beating Tennessee, Missouri and Arkansas in the SEC tournament was the thing that nudged MSU past UConn.

I hope the intro music for this 5 pm bracket reveal is just yakety sax

Well, I was right about Louisville being the overall #3. Hooray for me.

I was wrong about UConn's and MSU's seeding. Okay whatever.

I am genuinely disappointed that Ohio didn't get in the field. I suspect the committee may have let the nonconference SOS be a deciding factor on those last couple spots:

Ohio #270
TCU #266
Tennessee #59
UCF #39

This has happened in the volleyball and softball reveals, as well.

But, folks don't realize that the reveal is "point in time". RPI, wins/losses, SOS, etc. will change every day until the last game is played; and, the seeds change accordingly.

That doesn't explain to me how MSU jumped UConn, though.

"An unfortunate technical error" is one way of putting it...

If Louisville is #3 overall, then that makes UCONN #6 overall? I think the tradeoff was to drop them that low so it would guarantee they could put them in Albany. They could have put UCONN #1 in another bracket but make them travel. The NCAA made travel in an issue in the men's draw.

So did the accidental leak cause them to move the selection show up by 2 whole hours??

Why?

That's 2 out of 3 years that Cal gets sent to the 8/9 game in Waco. That's kinda brutal.

Im listening to Triangle Sports Radio right now.... and they do a daily trending segment at 5pm.... and this is their top trending topic :D:D:D TThey are talking about them having to move up the selection show to 5pm :oops::oops::oops:

3 out of 6 if I recall. I believe they came down in 2014 as well. I guess the committee doesn't look back too far to avoid rematches.

They're supposed to look at the previous 3 brackets.

There's a fair amount of repetition in this bracket. Elite Eight same-season non-conference rematches for MSU-Oregon, Louisville-UConn, and this is the 5th time in 6 years ND is in line to face Stanford prior to the Final Four, etc.
