Why does no one talk about Rudy Gay?

Took two of my boys to a game when Rudy was playing. He spoke with my kids for a
bit and couldn't have been nicer. Have always had a soft spot for Rudy since then,

Simple. Rudy was here only 2 years. The only comparison there is Caron. Caron carried UConn during down seasons as an underrated recruit, Rudy was part of 2 of the 3 worst UConn NCAA losses as a top 3 recruit in country, nor did he put up numbers commiserate with his talent.

None of that has a single thing to do with him being an "elite scorer". Youre also moving the goal post by comparing his offensive production to other huskies. Your original comment was you claiming RG is an elite NBA scorer. Not hes the best scorer outside of Ray Uconn has had in the league. That being said youre entitled to your opinion so ok.

Rudy has averaged 16.3 points over his NBA career, Cliff averaged 14.2 but played 3 more seasons. Nevertheless, my point stands that while Rudy has scored a ton of points in the NBA, he hasn't had any playoff success.

To be in the top 100 all time point scorers out of THOUSANDS of NBA players absolutely says that he was an elite scorer during his peak years, otherwise his point total wouldn't be in the top 100.

Rudy averaged over 19 points a game 9 times, Cliff only did it 4 times. Cliff played so many more games due to 18 seasons in the league.

Look at it another way. If Rudy has just one more decent season, he could very well pass Magic Johnson in career points. Perhaps Chris Mullin as well. Rudy would never amassed those type of totals if he wasn't a pretty elite scorer in his prime.

That was my basic premise...despite being a top 100 scorer in NBA history, he has had no playoff success. Statistically improbable perhaps, but true.
