Who's our regional 2 seed?

UT would be a great team to just stay away from. Too much sturm und drang around that program and Pat Summit. The ESPN commentary would drive many of us nuts and win or lose you lose in beating PS in what could be her last year or being forever remembered as the team that lost to UT in her last year....lean in close: the horror... the horror!

Interesting that fans from Stanford, Baylor, and Duke seem to care who our 2 seed should be. Not worried about your own? I think UConn getting some of it's juice back this week may have some people nervous.

And if the 2 seeds are Maryland, Duke, Tennessee, and Delaware....Tennessee is furthest from Kingston. So the committee will have broken it's own rules and exposed what a sham the system is.

I just hope Stanford has to play a half way decent team in the regional this year. 9 seeded Iowa State and 11 seeded Gonzaga isn't exactly murderers row.

I've seen comments that Pat doesn't want to play UCONN because she knows that she can't beat the Huskies. I want to see this theory put to the test.

What theory? She made the decision when Maya Moore commited to UConn. Maya is not on UConn anymore. No theory will be put to the test.

VA Tech seemed to find a way. I think we can as well.

Actually Thomas didnt play vs VPI, wrist injury. If she would have played.... no way MD would have suffered that embarrassing loss. Still no excuses for losing that game.... MD's second 5 has more talent then VPI's starters.

If the NCAA wants to sell tickets, it should put Tenn in UConn's region, 31 miles be damned. ESPN is lighting candles as we speak to make it happen

You got that right, Nan. ESPN could care less about Pat's health issues or anything else. They just want to promote and televise the circus.

Nan, shame on you. You have come over to the dark side (damn, wish sent this from my Droid with tappy talk!). You now accept that ratings uber alles (where is the umlaut when I want it) exclipses logic and decency every time!

I assumed UCONN would sell out R.I. by itself.... If I recall, its a small arena in Kingston.

If they REALLY want to sell tickets... They would put ND, Duke, and TENN in the Raleigh regional

Well, I don't see it but selling tickets and adding viewers is good for the game, but I don't see the Committee doing that to the grand old dame on her last legs. I think they will go out of their way to show impartiality given all the public disclosure about Pat's illness - and all the bizarre stuff she said is embarrassing in light of her illness. If we meet down the road in the normal course that's fine, I just don't expect them to throw us in Tn's face. I could be wrong though!

I would hope ticket sales should already be pretty good with UConn there. Throw in Delaware and Maryland, and I'd think a near sell out should be doable (arena holds < 8000).

Des Moines is a different story. The Vols would provide a nice ticket boost.

Nan,

Who is on the selection committee? How many are old pals with CPS?

Are there are enough "old pals" on the selection committee to protect their old pal Pat from the media maelstrom that would no doubt overwhelm her personally and overwhelm the tourney in general, if UConn and UT were to play?

Imagine the Lady Vols get assigned as #2 in the Kingston Region, UConn wales the tar out of them, and back in Tennessee the Revenoors simultaneously pull a massive raid on Rocky Top, confiscating all their moonshine stills!

I can dream, can't I?

As a ball fan, I was merely guessing/betting who will be in UConn's bracket as #2. I just have a hunch it will be TN, but I could easily be wrong. I bet Stanford gets MD or Duke. My gut says Duke.

If your scenario is true, then the NCAA ought to fire their programmers and get somebody in there who understands the principles of fuzzy logic.
.
Good news! Using fuzzy logic, I have determined that we won all of this year's Notre Dame games!

Kingston, RI! I thought we were goin' to Jamaica Man...already booked the flite and hotel! :) Sorry, the moon is still full here in the Rockies.

Weisenheimer.

Read up on fuzzy logic - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuzzy_logic

If you think about it, the NCAA rules already embrace a tinge of fuzzy logic in allowing the placement of teams to slide up or down one level to accommodate other rules or goals in forming brackets.
