For those not following the band fiasco:

Yesterday, he had one of his band members leak on the internet that they were not going to be attending basketball and hockey games at the XL due to state spending cuts…without first consulting with AD David Benedict or anyone else from the Athletic Department.

Then today he unilaterally decided to not allow the UCMB to attend the football game today due to “sickness and other factors” without telling the football program, athletic department, or anyone else at UConn.

So which job posting hits the UConn HR system first? New Band Director or New Football Offensive Coordinator?

Is that true about the band at the XL? If so, why are we paying to play at the XL?? If budget cuts are forcing the band from traveling, why not save money and play all home games on campus?

All signs of bad school leadership. I’d fire the director tonight. Whoever decided to ban the band from Hartford needs to be fired. AD Benedict better fire Chalton. This school shoots itself in the foot constantly.

Unfortunately, they won't fire either the band director or Charlton. That said, what the band director did is way worse as he made a conscious decision to not inform his superiors and partners of a major performance issue. If a subordinate unilaterally made a major decision that had a significant impact on the company and didn't tell anyone, they would be fired immediately.

Issue been addressed meaning no more gaffes or you get a formal reprimand on your record? Hope the sick members get better. At least rectification was quick. Now, can they address the OC issue by, say, tomorrow?

It’s disappointing that the UCMB could not perform at the game. We have one of the best fight songs in the country! It’s part of what makes us a national brand.

I would fire Mora and go after Dan Mullen. Money talks and I think Mullen would jump at the chance to take over this program. No interference from the administration that happens at most schools.

This isnt as stupid as your take about having 20,000 UConn fans at BC, but its close.

You realize Mullen was fired from Florida because he didn’t want to recruit in season right?

Mullen got fired because he was 13-10 in his last 2 seasons at Florida. He was loyal to his assistants, especially the DC and Co-OC, which hurt the team.

By the way, Mullen was given a one year show cause for recruiting violations so he couldn't recruit off campus which made the fans mad at Mullen. When the fans are mad and you aren't winning enough, at a big boy football school you are gone.

BTW, Florida's recruiting classes in 2019 and 2020 were #9 and #7.

What makes you think this administration is willing to invest in football? Not happening. Mora will be here until he quits, which is pretty likely at some point.
