Too bad he couldn’t shoot worth a damn. I knew him a little because we dated girls from the same dorm our first year and ran into eachother a lot at curfew. He was not yet a household name even for those who could pronounce it.He was so much fun.
I was there. Big time atmosphere.I watched a head to head matchup of Corny vs. Sly Williams(Rhode Island) at the New Haven Coliseum. Corny won the battle by a hair.
Two very skilled players. Sly went on to play for the Knicks if I recall.
I remember he was a pretty good passer too.He was so much fun.
Sadly Bouk played during COVID era, so no live fans.Uhhh, are you,,,what? 6?
Edit: out of state???
Jeesh you’re right! LolSadly Bouk played during COVID era, so no live fans.

I saw Spider playing when I attended UConn. He got his name from his long arms, used to defend and jar the ball loose from opponents.Hrubala played after the other 3 I believe. The Spider, one of my all time favorites, Nobody played harder. 6'2" power forward
You jogged my memory when u mentioned the old New Haven Coliseum and Sly and CornyI was there. Big time atmosphere.
So he was a loser back in HS? How the hell could a team with him lose Class S?Alexinas team lost the S final
Alive but in kindergarten….Happy Super Bowl Sunday! I was thinking about UConn players I wish I had seen live and decided to ask other Boneyarders the same question. For me, it’s Art Quimby. At 6’5”, three straight seasons averaging over 20 rebounds per game. In 1954-55, he averaged 23.2 points and 24.4 rebounds per game. Was anybody on the BY alive to see this incredible performance?
Wow of all the possible comments on my postSo he was a loser back in HS? How the hell could a team with him lose Class S
Fact ck I was incorrect on Chuck AYou jogged my memory when u mentioned the old New Haven Coliseum and Sly and Corny
In the golden age of Connecticut high school basketball at the old
New Haven coliseum
Sly Williams versus Rick Mahorn for the 1976 class double L championship
Lee high school versus weaver
Lee won in ot
Harding with Wes Mathew’s won the classL
Middletown corny Thompson won the M
And if memory serves Chuck
Alexinas team lost the S final
5 players who played in the Nba
Ct hs bb was loaded with great players and teams
In the 60’s-80’s
Not as much after that
Was fortunate to see most of the best players and teams in that era
Great memories!!
I honestly don't know what happened back then and I assumed you did. That's why I asked you. I can't stand Chuck and wanted to know the facts.Wow of all the possible comments on my post
Yours was not on the list
Maybe ck your schedule and see if Tuesday
At 2 works
Was at that game also. Real battle on the boards. Wasn’t the story that Sly was on the train to Providence but somehow got off early and went to visit URI and ended up going there instead?I watched a head to head matchup of Corny vs. Sly Williams(Rhode Island) at the New Haven Coliseum. Corny won the battle by a hair.
Two very skilled players. Sly went on to play for the Knicks if I recall.
Seems like there aren’t too many people on this board who actually saw Quimby play. My dad entered UConn in the fall of 1955 so he barely missed Quimby. He was friendly with Bill Schmidt, Al Cooper and Wayne Davis.Alive but in kindergarten….
This 2014 story from the Waterbury Republican, mentions the loss where St. Thomas Aquinas double and triple-teamed him.So he was a loser back in HS? How the hell could a team with him lose Class S?
