I've noticed something odd over the years: well, maybe it's not so odd given such a memorable name, but whenever I mention PC basketball, non-PC fans will mention 1 player specifically....God Shammgod (fans in my dads age group will probably say Ernie D)

Now God was really good, not the best the program has known (that honor probably goes to Ernie D), but he still gets the mentions.

The point of this thread is not PC specific. Who do you associate, top of mind, with the following programs? Not, who do you think is the best. Not, the most underrated. Just the name that comes to your mind:

Which player (not coach) is linked with:

The rest of the current/former BE

Or any school you wish. There is no right answer.
Can probably guess my age by this. The Danny Mannings and Kareems and Magics and Mullens were before my time.

Arizona - Miles Simon
Kansas - Kirk Hinrich
UNC - Michael Jordan
DUKE - JJ Reddick
UK - John Wall
UCONN (this should be good) - Kemba Walker

Gonzaga - Drew Timme
Ucla - Bill Walton
Texas - Kevin Durant
Florida - Joakim Noah
Michigan St - Mateen Cleaves

Seton Hall - Dan Hurley lol (Shaheen Holloway probably actually)
DePaul - Quentin Richardson

Have to go with the first ballot HOF for UCONN, that would be Ray. On the national stage, I don't believe there's a close second

But on a team with 5 titles, I'm going with a guy who led the team to one of them.

.-.
Pitt I go with Julius Page (my fav Pitt player by farrrrrrr) or Dejuan Blair. Hon. Mention to Karl Krauser cuz I disliked him so much.

I picture the Gansey/Pittsnogle/Beilein team when thinking of WVU.

Providence = Soup Campbell
UConn = Emeka
KU-Wilt
UB = Manute
Duke - I'd like to say Bobby H, but it's the evil Laetner

Interesting choice in Emeka, Rich. You’re one of the “elders” here. Would love to hear your take on why you chose him.

Duke: Sheldon Williams
UCONN: Emeka and Kemba, it’s so hard to pick
Cuse: Melo

Gotta give Kemba the edge over Ray for winning a title. Sure Ray is a Hall of Famer and Kemba isn't, but it's what a player did in college, not the NBA. Laettner was all-world in college, but not a great pro.

Everyone keeps saying UNC = Jordan. Obviously the best player ever to come from there, but early 80s was before my time as a fan.
Since I've been watching, I think of Vince Carter or Hansbrough much more when I think of UNC

As the OP stated, it's about who you think of top of mind, regardless of stats or accomplishments. It most likely depends on your age.

Texas - Durant
Davidson - Curry

UConn - Kemba (but watch out for Clingan)

Interesting. I'm blank if nobody jumps out at me. If I have to think too hard, then it's not a quick association.

Louisville- Peyton Siva
Villanova- Scotty Reynolds
Pittsburgh- Gary McGee's ankles
Syracuse- Eric Devendorf
Cincinnati- Sean Kilpatrick

Seton Hall - Dan Hurley lol (Shaheen Holloway probably actually)
Other than Dan Hurley and Shaheen Holloway, I think the only OBE Hall player I can think of is Jeremy Hazell. Remember him?

I don’t think I’ve ever felt so old. Thanks. I mean, asking if we remember all the way back to Jeremy Hazell did it for me. I need a nap now.

.-.
UConn seems each decade had its guy
60s Wes B.
70s Hanson
80s Thompson
90s Ray
00s Emeka
10s Kemba

The first name I though of was Big East POY Dan Callandrillo.
Too funny. I've been feeling old as I approach 30 but this gives me a new lease on life

Not so much that Hazell played long ago, more that he was a relatively under the radar guy on a completely inconsequential team
