Nice to have a long weekend!! Hoping the weathers nice enough for a CT beach day. All the seafood suggestions, make me feel like a boiled buttered lobster is in my future. What's ur plan?

Family outing one day, wedding the day after the 4th in Simsbury, friends party day after, golf Sunday....Newport RI Goat Island Mon-Thurs!!!

BBQ and "not so legal" fireworks at my brother in laws' tomorrow....Youngest daughter has a 16th birthday pool party at our place on Saturday. 20 teenagers taking over the place.

Other than that.....I have stocked up on Wachuset Green Monstah, Back East Misty Mountain IPA and Long Trail Pollinator. Happy 4th all!!!!

Drove to Virginia this morning Family reunion. Hot as he'll down here, missing New England coast.

Gotta respect Captain's Call. I try to avoid the brown liquor during the summer so I can better (cough, cough) pace myself.



Weather is going to suck so boating is secured.

But, going to a friend's house. He smoking brisket and ribs and wings, and cooking up some beer can chicken. Everyone else is bringing sides and desserts. I'm bringing a garden salad with greens, pecans, feta, cranberries and vinaigrette and a pistachio pie for dessert.

Beverages will be Abita Strawberry, Shiner Ruby Redbird and Goose Island Summer Ale. And we are killing a fifth of Wild Turkey 101 to commemorate a special work event from two weeks ago.

Weather permitting it's corn hole and horse shoes outside or yahtzee, scrabble and ships, captain crew inside.

If weather is good enough, we can catch the fire works over the bay from his back yard.

Regardless, Happy 4th of July to all the Boneyarders.

Gonna grind some meat for burgers (Beef and Bacon burgers and Pork and Lamb burgers) this afternoon and then watch the local show from my backyard this evening. It's pretty cool, the town show is at the high school which is about 150 feet below my backyard - seeing fireworks at eye level is interesting.

The beach parking lots are filled and closed, both the townies and the out of town beach. Humid along the shore. We go during the week when its not so crowded, only live .7 miles from beach. Sandy did a job on beach erosion, which made the beach smaller during high tide.

Alright I am OLD.......and I don't listen to my wife apparently so she may be right........at the wedding last night I somehow found out that in my mind I had the wrong week for vacation.....I was saying I had to play golf Sunday morning and then stay somewhat sober because I had to pack for Newport and my wife said "what the hell are you talking about, we're not going until July 15th?" I really thought it was this week thank God I finally communicated with my wife at the wedding huh?..............funny thing is I have a full week set up with my sales guys the week after and now I have to admit my aging mind to more then the BY!!
