What would it take to beat us?

What you need to do to beat UConn is shrink the rotation. The Michigan game is the model.

Blanca was ineffective in that game and Geno was not even able to play her. Ziebell played 8 minutes and had zero points. The game seemed too big for her. Heckel played 10 minutes and scored 3 points and was not a big factor. Geno relied heavily on his starting 5 in that game. And I thought Sarah was tired in the second half. Ziebell and Heckel have been very consistent against big east opposition, but can they do it against power 5 teams? Can ziebell be effective on offense and defense if UConn runs into a team like Ole Miss in the sweet 16? That’s what we will have to see.

And that is how you beat this team. You make Geno lose confidence in some of his rotation pieces.

UCLA - the older Betts dominating in the paint. Rebounding will be critical and as previously stated kinetic will need both an A game hitting the boards but more importantly defense that is able to deny the entry.

UCLA - a trio of guards who are extremely effective from distance. If anyone can maintain the challenge of constant defense on the perimeter as well as denying the entry pass it's Connecticut. But again this will need to be elite.

Bench - UCLA and Connecticut both bring scoring off the bench. I think this is where the luck comes in. Which bench player is effective in scoring. In fact this may be the decisive

But what do I know. I'm a humble Molly Miller fan, Sun Devil supporter and skeptic of q1 wins.

My question about ucla is can they handle athleticism? They didn’t when the played Texas earlier this year.

Their guards are skilled. But, they are the same guards they had last year (basically)… they did add more shooting. But when we beat them in the final four; we ran them all over the place. Our guard play dictated the pace and they couldn’t hang. Our guards won that game.

Sarah Strong in foul trouble, ultimately fouling out. That would not be good. Also, less than 20% 3 point shooting.

something I believe will be part of the formula for a loss is a bad shooting game from Azzi. If Azzi has one of those games where she starts the game missing her first 10 shots… UConn will be in trouble against a good opponent.

A healthy Leger-Walker and the transfer Kneepkins have added a whole lot to the UCLA backcourt.......

i would like to see them against lsu. Fulwiley, Flau, Williams. Can they really handle those players?

How bout Tenn in UCLAs bracket as a 8/9 seed facing UCLA.

I don't think there's a huge gap to be honest if teams bring their same A/B/C level of play. I do think UCONN is probably the best team when everything is clicking, but any of the #1 seeds are more than capable of winning a game if they catch UCONN on a poor shooting day. Texas has 2 wins over South Carolina and a win over UCLA, they have better spacing offensively with the addition of Crump and play great defense. South Carolina might be the fastest/quickest team in the country and is solid on both ends. Both coaches have beat UCONN in the tournament before. And then UCLA who has the best center in the country and three wings that all average 13+ PPG and are flirting with 50/40/90 splits. Top 6 players are all seniors and they just obliterated a good Iowa team by 51 points. If those 4 teams make the Final Four I'd still put money on UCONN but any of them could come out on top. Then you have Kim Mulkey and LSU, and Kim has won multiple championships with teams that came out of nowhere to pull it off. If UCONN were to lose to one of these teams I think it'd be an upset but not at the level of 2013 Baylor/Louisville, 2017 UCONN/Mississippi State or 2023 Iowa/South Carolina.

Please Please Please UConns defense stops everybody. Barring injuries and big foul trouble UConn wins it all. Your cant shoot if you cant get an open shot. If you dont have 5 ball handlers your gonna cuff it up. I dont care how big or fast your are if you cant get a clean shot off well???????????? This UConn teams is better than last years and this year they're Paigeless.
