The UCONN @Penn State WBB game is only on the BIG 10 network next week as they won't sell rights to SNY/ESPN whoever! Last years UCONN @ OREGON game was only on PAC 12 network not SNY and that was before ESPN took over! All sports of conference on their networks!

Can my friends here please help me understand?:
If I have Directv and if I buy the sports pkg that includes SNY, can I watch the games at my home outside of the regional footprint (New Orleans) as well as at the one within the footprint in CT?

Yes

I have WatchESPN through Apple tv and it includes ESPN3. It lists upcoming games on ESPN3 up until Tuesday and will show the Iona/St. John's game live on Tuesday. I was wondering if there is a schedule of games that will be on ESPN3 (not just UConn but all WCB) for the whole season? Someone posted this earlier but it does not cover ESPN3.....

Now living in the southwest, I purposely got DirecTV because it carries SNY. After finding out that Mets games are blacked out on SNY out here, I got a little nervous about the UConn games. But, it appears that the blackouts only apply to professional teams** and all went well yesterday from a TV point of view. Saw the UConn preview the other night, and yesterday's pre-game show and game. Two hours earlier than in the east, of course. And just as a bonus, my DirecTV service includes the Big 10 network which should allow me to see the Penn State game on the 17th (starting at 10 a.m., MT).

**When I subscribed to MLB Extra Innings after the ML All-Star break, I was able to see virtually any ML game, including the Mets (and of course the Dodgers).

I am befuddled as to why this is not done by anyone who is a UCONNWB fan and cannot get local access of SNY.

With the package you get Yess, and Nesn also but pretty much every MLB game is blacked out. I believe I get the BTN, ESPN 1,2,and U along with Fox and CBS sports and the golf channel.all on my standard package. Also NBA MLB and NFl
The reality is I buy the SNY package just because of UConn.
Since I can't get ESPN 3 . Does apple TV work if you provider is not listed?

MLB extra innings is a small price to pay for the enjoyment my 94 year old Mom gets from watching the Yankees.

Not only baseball but most pro teams - and also (often) men's college basketball - are blacked out in areas that are "out of market" on DirecTV and any and all other carriers. Few football games and virtually no WBB games are blacked out. None of this is under DirecTV's control.

My only complaints with DirecTV is the one thing that is their issue - the refusal to make a deal to carry the PAC12 network - which has reached the point where the PAC12 is now advertising Dish. They also don't carry the Longhorn Network, and while there are certainly things on it that I would watch, I both understand and accept it. The Pac12 network not so much.
