Can my friends here please help me understand?:
If I have Directv and if I buy the sports pkg that includes SNY, can I watch the games at my home outside of the regional footprint (New Orleans) as well as at the one within the footprint in CT?
Now living in the southwest, I purposely got DirecTV because it carries SNY. After finding out that Mets games are blacked out on SNY out here, I got a little nervous about the UConn games. But, it appears that the blackouts only apply to professional teams* and all went well yesterday from a TV point of view. Saw the UConn preview the other night, and yesterday's pre-game show and game. Two hours earlier than in the east, of course. And just as a bonus, my DirecTV service includes the Big 10 network which should allow me to see the Penn State game on the 17th (starting at 10 a.m., MT).
*When I subscribed to MLB Extra Innings after the ML All-Star break, I was able to see virtually any ML game, including the Mets (and of course the Dodgers).
With the package you get Yess, and Nesn also but pretty much every MLB game is blacked out. I believe I get the BTN, ESPN 1,2,and U along with Fox and CBS sports and the golf channel.all on my standard package. Also NBA MLB and NFlI am befuddled as to why this is not done by anyone who is a UCONNWB fan and cannot get local access of SNY.
