Yeah so imagine how bad it would've been if Ollie was still here.right. Thats my point. This years team IS better.
yet we sit at 10-8
just like last year.

What I mean is that that aspect is not unique to our fan base, and it's a gross over-generalization imo. Being spoiled is more unique to us. It wasn't that way when I first started following UConn, but the success we've had since then is still among the very best as compared with any other programs in the country, and I think that has a more direct impact on the lack of patience and passion among our fanbase when we are not having good seasons.
Women's basketball, Yankees, Giants Superbowls, Patriots Superbowls, red Sox championships, etc. These fan bases all overlap and leave us with a bunch of spoiled little brats. The women’s basketball success has had a huge negative impact on the sanity of the fanbase.

Yeah he probably would have thrown them in a zone again because he didn't want to spend time teaching man to man defense anymore. I'd rather we take our lumps now than when Hurley has a roster full of his guys.I dunno.
Hard to say. This team is worse defensively.
Definitely better offensively though.

Every bit of empirical evidence says this team is better than last years beyond both being 10-8.right. Thats my point. This years team IS better.

We're definitely better this year. If you don't see it, I can't help youObjectively we are not better than last year. Loved the Cuse win. Fun game against Cincy. Judging by our wins and losses we are not better. But the season is not over!
Not good enough even if coached by Calhoun
And I surely wouldn’t ask for your help. We're definitely better this year. If you don't see it, I can't help you

He just said it didn’t he?Based on what objectives?
Last couple years with KO weren’t we preseason top 20 SI? Lots of experts get fooled.I suggest you all take a look at the preseason prediction thread.
There werent many people who didnt have us over 20 wins.
Almost none.
I was one of them who had us well under 20. Go look it up. So none of this has anything to do with my expectations for this season.
My expectations were simply to get better. Its a low bar. We are having trouble crossing it.
And yes this group of players is obviously just not up to the task unfortunately. But everyone believed in the Hurley magic bullet and it aint there and are now walking it back.
He just said it didn’t he?
Wins and losses. First sentence
That would mean we are the same not worse but I assumed there must be some other objective...

I get being mad that we lost to USF and Tulsa, but last year we went to OT against Columbia and Stony Brook. This year we beat those type of teams by 20-30. We were 171st in ORtg and 178th in DRtg last year. We’re 96th in both this year. If you can’t look beyond the 10-8 record then you’re just trying to complain. If they keep on improving L’s will become W’s in due time.
I’d love to watch him in Tulsa, Wyoming stare at his teammates trying to figure out where it all went so wrong.
Get over yourself.
Recruit/Rebuild and Current game coaching evals. are two different things.
It seems you have a hard time grasping that.
Let me ask you a question.
On paper. Just on paper. Remove KO from your dome, Hurley too. Which team is more promising. This year or last year?
KO is the sole reason we suck right now and sucked the last two years. You can't have this conversation while ignoring the prior clown showThat's his problem is his disdain for KO. Can't see the forest from the trees

The team is a lot better than it was last year. Players are trying harder. It's like you KO fan club losers forget how many times the team just flat out quit the last two years. The coaching hasn't improved this year either and none of you KO haters can acknowledge that. I do believe long term Hurley is the right choice
I also believe this team has 2 more wins under KO. He would have zoned more and not as many turnovers. Also think he would have made better adjustments in certain games. That doesn't mean he is/ was the man for the job but Hurley hasn't exactly lit the world on fire

Right now the biggest thing is improving the roster. Hurley currently has recruited the no. 11 class for 2019 according to ESPN. This should be the focus. The team is a lot better than it was last year. Players are trying harder.
