What about this lineup for now?

At minimum we need another center and an experienced combo guard who can handle the ball. We have 4 guys who can play minutes at the 3 (Ross, Mullins, Landrew and Khamenia). Wouldn’t be shocked to see Khamenia start at the 4 though. We definitely need 1-2 more front court players and a guard who can play point. Mullins did run the point for short spurts last year but we should not be relying on that as it isn’t his strong suit.

Not enough size or perimeter shooters. Ball is a big loss
Demary 6’4, Mullins 6’6, Landrew 6’6, Khamenia 6’8 should all be perimeter shooters.

Ross 6’7
Portal pg
Portal 7’0+
County 6’4

Big time Portal 4 ?

We will have the best backcourt in the country with Demary and Mullins. Ross/Khamenia/Hines is very good but we are currently woefully thin at the 4 and 5 as others have mentioned. I would prefer getting a big PF and move Khamenia to the 3.

Let the portal season play outtttttttttttt. It's closing down tomorrow, still a lot going out there. Deliberating over the roster now makes zero sense. Let the coaches do their work.

Agree however, his penetration many times resulted in not being able to finish and falling to the floor. His shooting scared opponents, they’d rather he trued to take it to the rim.
His wrist might have had a lot to do with his finishing, both with avoiding contact and with not having enough strength to put the ball where he wanted it. It could have been extremely painful depending on the angle and motion. The falling on the floor is something that needs serious work.

With Solo out, how ya feel about this lineup? I’m high on Landrew.

Demary
Braylon
Colben
Nik
Nanak

Bench - quality backup pg
Jayden
Junior
Quality back center
I think they need more size. That lineup is going to have trouble defending the paint and rebounding.

Not a fan of you two, but a huge fan of the team. I'm not losing hope on having a great season because Solo is out. He didn't play well last year because of a bad wrist, and the team still made a great run, is the point.
It's simple. Stop bashing our players.
I wrote a college essay on Nanook.

Stewart doesnt leave if this was announced a week ago. Very skeptical of the timing of all of this.
Of course he does. I wish people would stop this. This has been known at least since Ross decided to return. Stewart’s role would be 10 minutes a game behind Nik at the 4. He properly decided he can do better. He is right. I wish him great success.

He hasn’t played a minute in a Husky uniform. I’d go with Jaden and his three years of experience over an incoming and unproven freshman. If he earns the spot in practice, great.

I would go with the top 20 player.

If you expect Jayden to play starter's minutes, you're going to expose everything about him that has had him coming off the bench over the last three years. Great energy guy when he comes in, especially on defense, but he doesn't have to be accounted for by the defense.

I think Ball used screens well and found a lot of open shots. He didn't hit enough of them. But his fakes and the respect people had for his shot allowed him plenty of space to drive. Of course Mullins will improve, I just see a maturity in Ball's game when it came to finding his shot that allowed for a lot of penetration.

I think he has some growing to do in that regard - way too many quick threes this past season. Injured or not, he still took 257 threes this year - especially in light of what we know now, that number was way, way too high.

But I think you're right....Mullins got into that habit at times as well.

This makes a good point on Landrew probably starting at the 3. We aren't bringing in our 8th highest recruit to come off the bench behind Ross. Ross might start there early but don't expect that to last.

I don't want Jayden or Landrew starting.

This is not the college basketball of old. Top 20 recruits start or they will transfer nowadays. The talent is clearly there and he is only getting better as he he is learning the game after moving on from football.

This isn't even close to being accurate.

Top 20 guys:

Rip Hamilton
Ray Allen
Donyell Marshall
Andre drummond
Caron Butler
Ben Gordon
Taliek Brown
AJ Price
Daniel Hamilton
Jalen Adams

Top 25:
Deandre Daniels
Kemba Walker

I can find more than this.

Not to mention earlier players before the days of national rankings, back when Street & Smiths listed them by region. I guess there were All-American first and second teams back then so you could guess who were in the top 10.

But Corny Thompson and Earl Kelley were both national recruits with big time offers. I'd say they'd both be top 25 if they ranked them.

There are a lot of recruits that weren't on 24/7 or were players like Drummond and Daniels who didn't rank as they transferred into their class late. Point is this is a top 20 recruit and we are arguing about him starting.

I don't want Jayden or Landrew starting.
I don't want Nik starting at the 4 but sometimes we have to trust the coaches as they know the players better than us. Let's see who we get into the portal before we know who is starting. Right now only Demary, Mullin and Hines are definite starters.

Off the top of my head Daniel Hamilton but there's plenty of others before him and then all the ridiculous omissions like Andre Drummond and Caron Butler due to their class/changing schools/prep. DeAndre Daniels was also #16. Sticks was #18.

I think he’s going off of recruiting ranking lists from like 2000 on in which case he’s probably right.
I found a lot of players post 2000 who were omitted.

I'm sure I left some out.

But...

Andre Drummond
Caron Butler
Ben Gordon
Taliek Brown
AJ Price
Daniel Hamilton
Jalen Adams
Deandre Daniels
Kemba Walker
Stanley Robinson

Deandre is #13, Daniel Halmiltion is on there at #9. This is where the poster got the rankings as some already posted. Stanely was #15. It was from 2000 on as @Fishy mentioned.

I'm not saying he is automatically going to start but right now NIk is going to see most of his minutes at the 4 until we get other people to play there. Ross will start at the 3 and Landrew will back up there and the 4.
Karaban was 6'8" 230. Nik is same height, weighs 215. Can Nik put on 10 lbs without slowing down?

In hindsight it would make sense if staff wanted both NK and Freeman. Or Wilkins. But now who’s left? We haven’t been linked with other players besides backup bigs.
