Pao Pao is elite. Maybe overlooked b/c 2020 is loaded at PG and more so due to her injuries. But she was ranked #7 by Prospects Nation right after she performed well at USA U16 trials.

Still ranked #26 by Blue Star and was #15 by ASGR at some point.

I didn’t get a tape measure out, but I’ve seen Satou next to Ruthy Hebard barefoot and Satou is actually slightly taller. Most people have accepted that Ruthy is 6’4”. But as I said I didn’t get the tape measure out.

And when Kelly Graves describes which starters play what positions he lists Boley as the 4 and Satou as the 3 for what it’s worth. It doesn’t much matter since they play a four out offense.

Satou Sabally is 6'4" and played at small forward. The link below shows her as a small forward and Cheryl Miller Award finalist.

AS A SOPHOMORE | 2018-19
- WBCA honorable mention All-American
- All-Pac-12
- Cheryl Miller Award finalist for nation's top small forward

Agile, athletic and long at 6'4".

I can only wish UCONN lands a player such as her. And if such a player had a sister that would be epic.

Megan and Evina appear to have a fairly close friendship--they made this video together when they were on the 2017 McDonald's All American Team... (problems with the link--you may have to do an old fashioned and cut-n-paste.)

Once again a thread about Westbrook goes off the rails leaving people lost as to what is actually being discussed. Great to see her with Walker. It looks like they are good friends. That could be a positive for us.

May 13 is the start of the 3-week session. I think the team typically enrolls in the first 5-week session that starts end of May/early June.

Why would Geno pursue Evina Westbrook when she could become Azura Stevens revisited? Westbrook is eligible for the WNBA draft after next season. One and done!

If Evina is good enough to get a high first round position in next years draft which is what it would take to jump into the WNBA imho, that would mean she had a great (AA level) season and by extension, UConn must have had a great season so for that alone, it would be worth it with a very seamless transition to Nika / Paige/ +++

If her season is not AA level, she would most likely come back and add to the competitive nature of the position but only for a year.

Also, Unlike Azura, Geno's eyes are much more open about the transfer world so he would not be caught off guard. (PUN not intended at first). :)

UCONN will be glad to take one and done from Evina. If Evina leaves after next season Christyn will be a junior, Anna will be a Sophomore, Nika and Paige will be freshmen and Azzi Fudd will be a UCONN signee. -UCONN will be alright!

Exactly. She'd be like a grad transfer and Geno is already bringing one in next season.

No, the discussion assumes she's is eligible next season.

By the way, what is the logistics of the transfer process eligibility time line

1) Declare Intent
2) Get waiver letter process started
3) If the waiver is not granted, cant Westbrook simply leave the process, not signe a NLI and go the international route as suggested. If so, what harm is it for the college to roll the dice?

Westbrook is not ready to play in the WNBA and I think she knows it, which is exactly why she’s transferring in the first place. She may prove to be a one and done like Z, but when you consider the plethora of guards that UConn will have if she departs after a single year of competition at UConn, whether that is next season or the following season, it may be precisely what the doctor ordered.

I remain positive re: coming year but have to question some of your points. ONO likely lead the team in fouls per minute. Even with more experience, likely to go up with more playing time. UConn also routinely got outrebounded last year-see the ND semi for why this is important. Not doom and gloom but wouldn't suggest we can match up underneath with current roster.
Not sure what your definition of routinely is, but mine would be > 50% of the time. UCONN was out rebounded 11 times or 29% of the time. Also of those 11 times, they won the game anyway 8 times by an average margin of 18 points.

I agree. Also, playing internationally is not very conducive to improving your skill set and grow your game and the exposure would also be less than a UConn (or Oregon) so that is not a great option imho.
