I still consider those next to meaningless. Vg's consolidation is an improvement but all they really provide is a shortcut for coaches as to who they want to make an effort to see. Any reliance on them for true ordinal ranking of the talent or their future development is nonsense. I will take Geno and staffs' eyes for that anyday.

Well, OK, I don't actually HATE them, but my strong anti-ND bias is based on the fact that the media has such a love affair with the place, going all the way back to the days of Knute Rockne, that they're always climbing all over themselves to "anoint" them champions of something or other irrespective of whether or not their actual accomplishments warrant such recognition, which they more often than not don't. Having said that, I am compelled to offer at least grudging admiration where it IS deserved.

Had to toss you a "Like" for the simple fact that that's one of the best crafted run-on sentences I've come across in quite some time, going all the way back to ninth grade composition, and probably earlier although I can't say I actually remember everything that's happened between then and now which doesn't change the envy I feel toward your actual accomplishment but I have to admit you pulled it off with style and grace which makes it all the more memorable and for that I will remain grateful, a feeling upon which I'd like to expand but feel I'd better stop here.

I think we're all forgetting that ND was blown out by UConn for many years until Diggins arrived.

Actually Diggins was 0-3 against UConn her freshman season with ND losing by an average of over 20 points per game. If you want to get technical, it wasn't until McBride (and Anchowa & Braker) joined the team that the Irish started having some success against the Huskies. Overall, McBride has a 7-4 record vs. UConn. Not too many players can say they had a winning career record vs. UConn! Many already considered McBride an AA candidate with Diggins...it will be interesting how high she can advance her game without Diggins.
